It’s inspiring to work with and see companies in Australia embrace sustainability practices and thinking into business. Check out Cultivated, for example, who brings new life to furniture design classics. By repairing and reusing, it drives a circular economy that creates jobs and celebrates craftsmanship and masterpieces. #manufacturinginsights #productdesign #sustainability #circulareconomy
Debuting at this year's @greendesignshow at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre we presented a short video 'Design Eternal'. Design Eternal showcases how the repair and reuse movement, coupled with quality, thoughtful design, can be an antidote to the fast furniture industry that feeds landfill waste (we think over 200,000 tons a year). Crucial to the movement, and celebrated here, are the makers, workshops and artisans, who's skills and knowledge breathe new life into tired and worn products. By supporting Cultivated, you are not only promoting a sustainable circular economy, you also support 14 partner workshops around Australia, keeping local economies and skill in furniture making alive. #circulareconomy #circulardesign #interiordesign #productdesign #sustainability #furniture

[ Final Poster Research Method ] 05/07/2024 Dear Connections, I'm excited to share that my team and I have completed our research on "Waste to Wealth: Innovative Furniture Design Using Upcycled and Repurposed Materials." Our objectives were to investigate the intersection of upcycling furniture, sustainability, creativity, and user preferences. We aimed to identify strategies to promote sustainable design practices in the furniture industry. The main problem we addressed is the environmental impact of traditional furniture production, which often relies on non-renewable resources and contributes to waste. Our research highlights the potential of using upcycled materials to create functional and aesthetically pleasing furniture, thereby reducing waste and promoting environmental conservation. For this task, each individual are required to design the infographic poster based on our research, so I carefully selecting the template, color scheme and balancing the amount of wording and graphic to align with the theme of sustainability and environmental consciousness. I hope this research inspires others to embrace innovative, sustainable design practices and contributes to a more environmentally conscious future. #Sustainability #Upcycling #FurnitureDesign #CircularEconomy #EnvironmentalConservation
