How does old growth end up in our clothes? *Quick answer* Fashion fabrics made from the dissolved wood pulp or “cellulose” of trees. Here's how: 🌲🪓 Trees are logged into wood chips ➡️ ☁️ Wood chips are chemically dissolved into pulp ➡️ 🧵Pulp is then processed into fibre ➡️ 🧶 Fibre is stretched and spun into yarn ➡️ 🧺 Yarn is woven into textiles ➡️ ✂️ Textiles are cut and rolled into fabric ➡️ 🪡 Fabric is sewn into garments ➡️ 💸 Garments are sold to consumers ➡️ 👕🌲 Forests are therefore in our clothes. Follow along to learn how Canopy's is working side by side with brands and innovators to shift the industry away from the 'take, make, waste' model towards a circular fashion future. https://bit.ly/3YOzONV #WhatsInYourWardrobe #CanopyStyle #Pack4Good #NextGenNow #Canopy

🧵 𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐋 𝐕𝐒 𝐌𝐎𝐃𝐀𝐋: 𝐔𝐍𝐑𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐂 𝐌𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐘 Ever wondered about the difference between Tencel and Modal? Both are sustainable fabrics, but they're not cut from the same cloth! 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐚 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧: • 𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥: Closed-loop production, minimal water use • 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐥: Softer texture, higher water consumption • Both: Wood pulp origin, fully biodegradable Tencel's eco-friendly process gives it an edge, but Modal's softness is hard to beat. I recently switched to Tencel sheets and love the smooth feel and knowing they're kinder to the planet. What's your experience with these fabrics? Have you tried either in your wardrobe or home? What is Bio-fabricated Fashion? Imagine a wardrobe where clothes grow from living cells instead of synthetic fibers, and vibrant colors come from nature, not chemical dyes. This isn’t a scene from a sci-fi movie; it’s the dawn of bio-fabricated fashion. Bio-fabricated fashion represents a transformative approach to clothing production, utilizing living organisms and natural processes—such as bacterial cellulose, fungal mycelium, and algae—rather than traditional materials. This innovative method involves growing textiles from microorganisms and plant-based sources, resulting in sustainable and biodegradable garments. This article published on the HULA website highlights the environmental benefits of bio-fabricated fashion, including reduced waste and decreased reliance on harmful chemicals. It also explores the potential for unique designs and textures that can emerge from living materials. As the fashion industry faces increasing pressure to adopt sustainable practices, bio-fabrication offers a promising solution that aligns with ecological responsibility and modern aesthetics, paving the way for a more sustainable future in fashion. #Apparel #Warptex #warptexbd #sourcing #clothing #Manufacturer #Exporter #statistics #exports #fashion #industry #manufacturing #Bangladeshgarment #garment #apparelindustry #fashionapparel #hometextiles #TextilesMarket #GarmentFactory

Can #fashion ever be sustainable? The fashion industry contributes about 8-10% of global #carbonemissions and 20% of wastewater. It's even more impactful than #aviation and shipping combined! From the water used to grow cotton to the energy required for manufacturing and dyeing, every step of the process contributes to greenhouse gas emissions. Let's explore how #rPET is made and its impact on sustainable fashion! ✅ 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Used plastic bottles are collected from recycling programs. ✅ 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠: The bottles are thoroughly cleaned to remove labels and impurities, then shredded into small plastic flakes. ✅ 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: These plastic flakes are melted down and extruded to form fibers. ✅ 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐘𝐚𝐫𝐧: The fibers are then spun into yarn, ready to be woven or knitted into fabrics. Using rPET helps keep plastic bottles out of #landfills and oceans. It’s incredible to think that the bottle I used yesterday could become part of my outfit tomorrow! Designers are increasingly incorporating rPET into their collections, creating stylish and eco-friendly fashion pieces. Choosing clothes made from rPET is a small but powerful way we can all contribute to a more sustainable fashion industry. What are your thoughts on rPET? Have you tried any rPET clothing yet? Do you know that a staggering 85% of #clothing produced globally ultimately ends up in landfills or is incinerated❓ This shocking figure reveals the reality that the fashion industry urgently needs to adopt #sustainable measures.👁🗨 In this rapidly developing industry, our impact on the #environment is huge. Common synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon are not easily degradable. Their accumulation not only takes up valuable land resources but also poses a serious threat to the marine ecosystem. Therefore, promoting biodegradable textiles has become extremely urgent.🌊🌏 ♻Our commitment is reflected in the pursuit of sustainable fashion, which is evidenced by a series of certifications we have obtained. Our products strictly adhere to #OKTEX100, #GRS, #FSC, and #GOTS. Through these certifications, we show consumers our firm commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development. #fashion #design #apparel #garment #coat #outerwear #fauxdownjakcet #cotton #woolen #trenchcoat #outerwearfactory #outerwearmanufacturer #overseasfactory

Fashion in textile, the main element of fashion is textile. That element which comes in different shapes, dimensions, colours, decor, strength, fluidity etc... Is very important as long as fashion is concerned, which is the key to the puzzle game. We have the natural, mineral & synthetic fibers. With differing processing from each group. Now when we talk of natural fibers we think about the soil and how beneficial natural elements are suitable for human consumption. But when it comes to fashion the circle is different. What if, what is good from nature becomes the very end to nature and humans ? "The Beast behind the beautiful". The primary element which is the soil, itself is put at risk because of human interference to it's natural nutritive functioning. For if the soil is poisoned what it produces turns out to be a double poison to itself, the environment and humans. These aspect is very important, for if there is a need for a fruitful harvest it ought to be done accordingly. Respecting the laws of nature and putting in mechanisms to help it function better not weakening and killing it slowly. This processing is what we will be looking at very closely. For consumers who are not into the fashion domain to easily understand. Thereby pushing them to take safe measures in other to contribute to sustainablility for everyone has a specific role or part to play. Towards the step by step movement for change. "We need the planet and the planet needs us to function properly for our own benefit". At this point in time nothing should stop us. Stay tuned... #sustainablefashion,#fashiontextile,#Naturaltextile,#epie_gladys2050,#fashionmyworld.

Revolutionising the Textile Industry: Growing to Order! 🌱 We are big fans of Hiut Denim Co and their made to order denim collection and principles (see image). Using our cotton would drastically decrease water usage and carbon footprint too. Made to last, made because you wanted them and made for you. Add grown for you to this list. At Calyx, we are committed to a sustainable future for fashion. As brands adopt “make-to-order” models to eliminate excess inventory and waste, we are pioneering “grow-to-order” cotton. Imagine a world where each piece of fabric is cultivated precisely for your needs, minimising waste and maximising efficiency. By growing cotton to order in the UK, we achieve the following: • Waste Reduction: Eliminating surplus cotton that remains unused. • Enhanced Sustainability: Reducing the environmental impact of overproduction. • Resource Optimisation: Ensuring the efficient use of water and energy. • High Performance: Delivering consistent results every time, thanks to our advanced technology and skilled growing techniques. This approach enables us to provide the highest quality cotton, tailored to exact specifications, ensuring that every fibre we grow directly contributes to the creation of high-quality, sustainable fabrics and garments. Together, we can weave (see what we did there) a more sustainable future for our planet. #GrownForGreatness #SustainableFashion #GrowToOrder #Innovation #TextileRevolution #Sustainability

CLOSE THE LOOP – The life of clothing shouldn't be seen as a straight line but as a circle, with waste minimized or eliminated by recycling materials at all points along the textile value chain, even at the end of a garment's life. However, sometimes recycling clothing can be difficult because blended fabrics are a processing challenge. But SENSIL® is about to change that! SENSIL® Flow is a new approach to apparel circularity, closing the loop of the clothing life cycle and accelerating sustainability across the textile industry. SENSIL® Flow hits on the key points of circularity by working with brands and retailers to design more circular clothing and partnering with recyclers throughout the value chain to maximize the materials that are reconverted back into usable forms. SENSIL® Flow is a specially engineered Nylon 6.6 yarn that creates unique mono-component fabrics with comfort stretch. It makes fabrics and apparel recyclable, in a process that requires no additional chemicals and generates minimal CO2 emissions. Thus, it lessens the environmental impact of textile waste. SENSIL® Flow empowers the apparel industry to embrace recycling as a pathway to true apparel circularity, the kind of apparel market consumers and the planet demand. A T-shirt that converts to a windbreaker, then a jacket? Is that even possible? 🤔 Today, more people are embracing sustainable fashion, which goes beyond just buying used items. It's about smart, adaptable clothing that serves multiple purposes and can be reused or recycled. Here are 3 key points I find interesting: ➡️ Multi-Use Designs Imagine clothing that adapts to weather changes or social settings. A jacket that transforms based on your immediate needs would minimize waste and maximize utility. ➡️ Recycling Fibers Innovative recycling lets us turn old clothes into new, reducing our environmental footprint. ➡️ Technology Integration Using technology into textiles could allow clothes to change color, pattern, or shape at the touch of a button, adapting to the user's needs and moods. Although our wardrobes don't yet have these transformative clothes, the blend of technology, environmental awareness, and innovative design is revolutionizing our fashion choices. What do you think about the potential for multi-use, adaptable clothing? Could this be the future of fashion? 💬 #Sustainability #Circularity #SustainableFashion #CircularEconomy #FashionInnovation #Recycling
