Exploring the 𝐃𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 has been one of the key focus areas for Frontiers Health over the last several conference editions. As we venture into the frontiers of #lifesciences, leveraging partnerships, knowledge, and skill exchange, I have found the journey so far extremely fascinating. With Eino Solje, we examined the ongoing revolutions in the field of #neurodegenerativediseases. We discussed #CardioMetabolicDiseases, focusing on precision and prevention at scale, in a panel moderated by Charles Alessi. Alex Zhavoronkov from Insilico Medicine explored #generativeAI applications in therapeutic target discovery, small molecule generation, clinical trial prediction, and aging research. Additionally, we delved into 'Designing DNA to Discover New Medicines' with an insightful keynote curated by Sidhyansh Saxena from Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc., a pioneering #biotech company renowned for its work in #syntheticbiology (#synbio). Moreover, we immersed our audience in the latest advancements in #DecentralizedScience, #clinicalresearch, and #translationalmedicine. 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝘂𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀: 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 published in IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control 👏 🗣️ DISI authors: Federico Mento PhD, Mattia Perpenti and Libertario Demi PhD This landmark paper reports results obtained from 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 and shows how accurate acquisition and analysis of innovative ultrasound rf multifrequency data performed with a linear probe lead to accuracies up to 85.43% in the differential diagnosis of diseases as fibrosis, cardiopulmonary edema and pneumonia. Today at #ERS2024, Dr. Thomas Gaisl from Universitätsspital Zürich shared important findings from a cohort study on ultrasound-guided transbronchial cryobiopsy of mediastinal and hilar lesions. Conducted across four Swiss centers, two- thirds of the data were obtained in University Hospital Zurich. This study highlights the potential of cryobiopsy to improve diagnostic yield when compared to EBUS-TBNA, while also maintaining a favorable safety profile. The rapidly growing body of evidence is suggesting that cryobiopsy is offering a significantly higher diagnostic yields when in comparison to EBUS-TBNA, especially when complex immunohistological staining and molecular diagnostic are needed. #cryobiopsy #pulmonology
