There is no better place to build brand than the AEC industry. We operate in a world where strong purpose + people + processes + projects = great partnerships. And if marketing is storytelling, site visits are an opportunity to write another chapter in the book of Birch. In this case, Jesse Ortiz, Lana Blanchard, Clint Wilson and Jeff Helland are on a mission to help people, help people by leading a team through a project that has faced endless rain and now, blistering heat. My role is to listen, learn and capture it all. Because their story is a story worth sharing. This is how we build a brand that builds business. #marketing #brand #brandbuilding #business #branding #construction #SMPS #architecture #design #businessdevelopment #engineer #trade #subcontractor #AEC #TEXO #Dallas #Texas #branding #social #trending #relationship #purpose #drone #video #photography
Beats By Birch ▶ 🎶 Get ready, Frisco! Our newest project to go vertical is Hareli's new 41,500 square-foot supermarket on the corner of Coit Road and Charismatic Parkway. We're just a few months away from opening the doors of this international grocery that will bring a wide selection of quality Indian, Asian, Middle-Eastern and Hispanic foods into your home. The development will also include retail and restaurants that will surround more than 2 acres of new park space with benches, wide, shaded sidewalks and green space. We can't wait for the grand opening! #grocery #indian #asian #hispanic #food #Frisco #construction #Texas #shopping #retail #community #beatsbybirch

Corner Stores are an invaluable asset for neighborhoods, especially ones that are food deserts. But a key challenge is pricing; keeping costs competitive and manageable for customers. I love to shop, especially grocery shop. When I travel, I always pop in local stores (grocers, specialty, food, even department stores). I know the price of basics (eggs, bread, milk, cereal, ground beef) and can generally gauge a store’s competitive rank. I once saw a 30oz jar of Hellman’s mayo (in my mind a basic food) for $11. As practitioners, maybe its time to help rethink grocery, the role of the corner stores and local grocers. What a wonderful story of the value of the co-operative model. The Plainfield Co-op in Vermont is a 51-year-old community-owned grocery store that is in the midst of a VERY unique expansion. The co-op's small store couldn't provide the variety of grocery choices their community wanted, and the low volume of sales was impacting the prices they could offer. Lack of land and parking limited who could be served and their ability to expand in place. Enter Plainfield Hardware (+ garden center, pet supply, deli & gifts) that had been up for sale. The co-op explored the feasibility of acquiring the business and site following which members voted in favor of the expansion and diversification. The move is projected to double grocery sales and add an additional $1.4M in revenues from the hardware store. The co-op is now presently operating in both locations as it eventually transitions the entire operation into the new single store. What an amazing effort! #whoownsyourgrocerystore #cooperatives #foodcoop #localeconomicdevelopment 👏

#foodforthoughts Do you think high street stores are scheduled for planned obsolescence? I came to this conclusion, as more and more of them are replaced by eateries, the only exception being health and beauty stores (to an extent). There is also less and less stock and staff in the ones remaining open, they feel like empty shells... Only existing to assist online shopping. In Pictures: Inside Waitrose's First New Convenience Store in Six Years "Waitrose opened the doors to its first new convenience store in six years today in Hampton Hill, South West London, marking the upmarket retailer’s 47th Waitrose-operated convenience shop. The new store, which features dedicated areas for ‘dinner for tonight’ and beer and wine, forms part of the grocer’s pledge to open up to 100 new convenience stores over the next five years in a £1bn investment programme. In August, Waitrose executive director James Bailey said new store openings would represent a shop “tailored to the local area” and designed “in mind of how customers like to shop”. Other features include a fresh bakery area with products such as bread, cookies and croissants, as well as a hot drink station serving the Nero Roasting Company’s americanos, lattes and cappuccinos, with tea available too." by Cara Houlton at Grocery Gazette Waitrose & Partners James Bailey Tina Mitchell #retailnews #storeopening #waitrose https://lnkd.in/eXd7m4WZ

"Demand for restaurant and retail space is booming, with brokers scrambling to find new locations for a surge of new concepts. What's driving the change? - Post-pandemic rebound: Consumers are eager to dine out and shop in person again. - Limited supply: New construction has slowed, leaving a shortage of available space. - Shifting consumer habits: Smaller format stores with drive-thru or pick-up options are in high demand. This makes sense to me -- a #smallstore concept aimed at urban dwellers (read: peeps who have money spend and what to drop it on fresh-squeezed juices, etc.) starting in NYC. First, sounds like they (#wholefoodsmarket) have a focus on their target customers; second, this allows them to penetrate markets where retail space is VERY expensive; third, as they have store base to start, they can leverage existing supply chains to be efficient (looking at you #foxtrot). But, it's not really a #grocerystore or should I say a traditional grocery store. It's what grocery seems to be almost inevitably evolving toward -- smaller footprint, highly specialized, highly efficient outlets that work for a (or many) specific markets. Does this work in Williamsburg, IA? Or even San Angelo, TX? Or the 'burbs of Chicago? Probably not. I hope that #WFM doesn't forget that lesson as they roll these out.
