📅 For our EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT EVENT: Launch of major new report on public innovation in cities 💡
How can European cities harness innovation to tackle today’s biggest challenges, from climate resilience to housing solutions?
Eurocities and LSE Cities are organising an event on 12 November at the European Parliament to discuss city government innovation in Europe.
The event will launch the report, ‘Public Innovation: Building Capacity in Europe’s cities,’ written by LSE Cities in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies and Eurocities.
The report is based on a Eurocities Pulse survey of 65 European cities and six deep-dive case studies. It asks what is working, what can cities learn from each other, and where they need more support to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
Speakers will include:
🔹 Event host Pierfrancesco Maran MEP, who will share his experience of Milan’s ambitious urban policies.
🔹 Matúš Vallo, Mayor of Bratislava, presenting the innovative policies and actions being implemented in his city.
🔹 Ben Rogers, Bloomberg Distinguished Fellow in Government Innovation at LSE Cities, explaining how cities can break new ground in tackling urban challenges.
🔹 Gaia Romani, Deputy Mayor of Comune di Milano, giving insights on Milan’s innovative approach to citizen participation and neighbourhood development.
🔹 James Anderson, Head of Government Innovation Programs at Bloomberg Philanthropies, providing expertise on fostering innovation in local government.
🔹 Judita Rozsa, Director General in the European Commission's DG REFORM, sharing how the EU is supporting cities to build sustainable public services.
🔹 Nathalie Guri, Projects and Knowledge Sharing Director at Eurocities, explaining how cities can work together to overcome challenges.
The event takes place on Tuesday 12 November, 14:00 - 15:30, at the European Parliament in Brussels.
