Edwards, CSP, Richard Busellato and I will be talking on our fortnightly Climate Courage (https://lnkd.in/eFu-PmUS) about the week's events. Here is a smattering, and it's not pretty: President Biden gives the OK for Ukraine to strike inside Russia with US missiles; Hong Kong jails pro-democracy leaders; Sweden, Finland, and Norway advises on what to do in the event of all out war; the Brazilian first lady starts the G20 meetings by swearing at Elon Musk; and Russia vetoes a UN vote for a ceasefire in Sudan. All this is during COP29 where everyone in Azerbaijan's climate event maintains the pretence that 1.5°C is still alive. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, 1.5°C dead. Oh, while we are at it, there are no trillions coming. But Christmas is around the corner. You can't leave people and the planet to governments. The sooner we recognise this the better we will be. People do care; governments don't. People are connected by the things that give us joy; governments have no joy. One way or another, people will find a way through, but it may take a crisis to get us there.
