As we approach Diwali, a festival that lights up our lives, it's important to examine the firecracker industry, a vibrant sector 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 ₹𝟲,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 With an estimated 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆, this industry provides livelihoods to around 1 million people, predominantly in states like Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.
However, the sector faces increasing scrutiny due to environmental and health concerns. In recent years, government regulations have tightened, aiming to reduce pollution by up to 𝟯𝟬% 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹.
Public sentiment is evolving; 𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝟲𝟴% 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝟳𝟱% 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗰𝗼-𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀. This shift is encouraging manufacturers to explore greener options, including low-emission and noise-free products.
Personally I've always enjoyed bursting fire-crackers but yes over the years expenditure has been decreasing with certain environmental factors ringing the bell.
As we celebrate Diwali, let's honor traditions while embracing sustainable practices for a brighter, greener future. 🌟
