The #CortisolTestCassette (Serum/Plasma) is a vital diagnostic tool for assessing cortisol levels, which is crucial in identifying diseases such as Cushing's syndrome and Addison's disease. Abnormal cortisol levels may lead to serious health issues, including chronic fatigue, muscle weakness and metabolic disorders, significantly impacting an individual's quality of life. This test utilizes a fluorescence immunoassay for the precise quantitative determination of cortisol in human serum and plasma, providing results within a test range of 50 nmol/L to 1000 nmol/L. The advantages of the Cortisol Test Cassette include its accuracy, ease of use and rapid results, making it an essential resource for healthcare professionals. Ultimately, it plays a significant role in early diagnosis and management of cortisol-related conditions, enhancing patient care and improving health outcomes. https://lnkd.in/gAFTXvv7 #CortisolTest #AddisonsDisease #FluorescenceImmunoassay #PatientCare #MetabolicDisorders #AllTest #Innovation

Thyroid Storms in its severe and treatment- resistant form can result in Decompensated Heart Failure with a high mortality rate. In our just-published literature review we narrated several cases like this. Plasma exchange and total thyroidectomy can resolve the trigger. However, the heart function barely comes back. A reminder for timely assessment and diagnosis and consideration of patients adherence to their meds. Thanks to the great team. #Heartfailure, #Grave’s, #Thyroidstorm, #PapillaryThyroidCancer

Our selected "Article of the Month": The costs analysis related to COPD, evaluated in a representative sample compared to individuals without the disease, informs that in 2019 the overall estimate of costs incurred was equal to $31.3 billion. This figure is destined to double within the next 10 years, albeit with significant national geographical differences. This evidence actualizes the enormous economic burden determined by this pathology and highlights how the complexity of the care required by these patients makes action planning necessary to rationalize resources. https://lnkd.in/grx5yTDG

🧠Prof. Tack's insightful talk on Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) diagnosis is truly inspiring! 🎯Accurate diagnosis still remains an obstacle. 💡 Their is a need to overcome these challenges. This includes raising awareness about the role of gut #microbiota in IBS. The development of a dedicated diagnostic tool for IBS holds great promise for improving IBS management. 💪 Supporting patients throughout their IBS journey is also crucial. #IBS #DigestiveHealth #Diagnosis #PatientCare
Did you know: up to 75% of individuals with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) may be undiagnosed. A complex disease that remains difficult for patients to relate and understand. To help healthcare professionals, Professor Jan Tack, a gastroenterologist at Leuven University, in partnership with Pr. Jean-Marc Sabaté and Pedro Costa Moreira, has created a tool to improve diagnosis and communication with patients. In this video, Jan Tack presents the genesis of this project for the Biocodex Microbiota Institute, and discusses the connection between #IBS and #microbiota. A user friendly and scientifically valid-based approached which aims to provide better support for patients thanks to a more practical approach to the disease. 📣 Landmark Trial Summaries, Presented by InpharmD The FINEARTS-HF trial (NCT04435626) evaluated finerenone (Kerendia™), a nonsteroidal selective MRA, in heart failure management as part of guideline-directed therapy. Finerenone significantly reduced worsening heart failure events and cardiovascular deaths compared to placebo and improved patient-reported health status (KCCQ total symptom score). However, it did not improve NYHA functional class or reduce kidney composite outcomes. Adverse events included higher rates of hyperkalemia (without fatalities) and lower rates of hypokalemia in the finerenone group. Check out InpharmD's blog for landmark trial summaries! We break down the most relevant information, with a strong focus on the data and clinical impact. This week we looked at the FINEARTS-HF trial, evaluating finerenone for heart failure management. While the primary outcome did show statistical significance, can we generalize this to our patient populations? What about comparisons with other MRAs?
