I'm just back from an amazing trip to Erfurt for the UX Festival. A big thanks to the organizers and volunteers for putting together such a fantastic event. 🏁 I attended several insightful sessions, including a workshop by Dr. Andreas Hinderks on UX Management. It’s clear that UX professionals face similar challenges across all levels, from undefined roles and responsibilities to difficult stakeholder management due to a lack of understanding from upper management. To articulate the business value of UX effectively, Robin Goldberg and Kay Spiegel gave us some valuable tips how to speak the language of business through KPIs, metrics, and credible business cases. 💡AI is here to stay, as evidenced by many new applications like chat interview bots that summarize interview transcripts into paraphrases like the one of xelper ✨ by David Ranftler🪁 and Paul Wesendonk. However, as Matthias Selisky put it, UX designers must not miss the moment to shape this evolution. It's crucial that user needs – or better yet, human needs – remain at the forefront when developing such tools, rather than focusing solely on business values. 👏 Accessibility was another key focus. What stood out at this conference was that as UX designers, we can start testing our designs for accessibility very early in the design process, using methods like the "Wizard of Oz" technique presented by Oliver Vaupel, and incorporating accessibility annotations in design systems. 😍 Most of all, I was inspired to meet so many talented UX professionals, both early and late in their careers. If you get the chance, check out this conference next year! #GermanUPA #UXManagement #UXFestival #AIinUX #Accessibility #UserExperience #UXBusinessValue #guxfestival

During my UX design bootcamp, one invaluable piece of advice from my mentor was to study and replicate the work of those who inspire you. 🚀 When I started out, I spent countless hours analyzing designs from industry leaders, deconstructing their elements, and recreating them. I wasn’t just copying for the sake of copying; I took the time to understand the principles and techniques that make their designs effective. This approach provided a solid foundation for developing my own unique style and innovating beyond what I had learned. If you’re a new designer, I encourage you to embrace this practice. It’s a powerful way to accelerate your learning and build a strong foundation for your future creations. #Design #Learning #Creativity #DesignThinking #SkillBuilding #GraphicDesign #UserExperience

🚀 Week 8 at ACS Technologies: Research, Design Choices, and User Insights! 🚀 This week was all about new connections, design evolution, and diving deeper into UX research! Key Learnings & Progress: 👥 Shadowing UX Research: After reaching out to the content team, met with ACS’s content lead to hear about current projects and exciting shadowing opportunities. 🔷 Schematic Design Evolution: Worked on two interactive designs—bento box style and hexagon-shaped product boxes. After experimenting with both, the hexagon design is moving forward due to fewer potential complications. Some elements of the bento box design might still make an appearance in future pop-up menus! 🎨 Filter Designs: Researched best practices and brainstormed filter applications for the schematic. Designed categories to differentiate products by denomination (Protestant vs. Catholic) and size—helping users find exactly what they need. 👂 User Interview Insights: Sat in on a user interview, observing how they interact with ACST software. Learned valuable feedback and discovered new details we hadn’t considered before! Wrapping up with a few key questions in mind for prioritizing information in upcoming designs—excited to see where this leads! #UXResearch #SchematicDesign #UserInsights #ACSTechnologies #DesignProcess #LearningJourney

🚀 Just finished watching the insightful "BTS Talk | Evolving Landscape of UX Design" and I am thrilled to share some transformative thoughts and revelations from the session! 🎨 💻 In today's digital age, the distinction between human and machine interactions is becoming increasingly subtle and complex. As UX designers, we are at the epicenter of this evolution, crafting experiences that bridge not just person to person, but also person to machine, and even machine to machine. Each interaction is a blend of aesthetics, data-driven insights, emotional intelligence, and experiential design, making every digital touchpoint resonate more deeply with users. As we navigate this multifaceted era, our role expands to orchestrate these interactions seamlessly, ensuring that technology complements the human experience in intuitive and meaningful ways. ⭐ Key takeaways from the brilliant minds at the webinar: 👉 The necessity of becoming 'generalist specialists'. This new breed of thinkers dives deep into various disciplines, pushing the boundaries of human potential by leveraging AI for data analysis and deeper insights. 👉 Designers are the bridge between now and the future, solving today's challenges with tomorrow's creativity. The rise of the 'experience economy' into a 'relationship economy' is where designers can shine by crafting experiences rich in emotion and connection. 👉 Visions of a future where design encompasses not just human-machine interactions but extends to nature and other species. Imagine speaking with trees or understanding whales — this is the kind of radical empathy and innovation in design thinking we are stepping into. The session echoed the sentiment that now is the best time to be a designer. With the world facing rapid changes and challenges—from climate crises to technological upheavals—the role of a designer is ever more critical. We're not just creating interfaces; we're crafting ecosystems, fostering relationships, and preserving the future of our species. As I absorbed these insights, I was struck by the immense responsibility and opportunity we hold as designers to shape a better, more interconnected world. Let's continue to think, create, and design with courage and curiosity! A big thank you to the speakers 🎤 Germán León, Jon Black, and Fernanda Rocha for such an enlightening discussion and for Barcelona Technology School for hosting it. Excited to see where these new ideas take us in our design journeys! Link to the webinar: https://lnkd.in/dPYfP_cG #UXDesign #Webinar #DesignThinking #FutureOfDesign #BTS_Talk #Innovation
