Former Grafton State Hospital site planned for life sciences complex after $2.65M sale. The state agency MassDevelopment has sold a parcel once part of Grafton State Hospital to a Real Estate Brokerage for $2.65 million, as the Boston-based developer intends to turn the site into an industrial complex. The Property, located at 124 Westboro Road, was sold in a deal. The firm intends to construct two buildings with a total area of 200,000 square feet, with construction set to begin during the summer and be completed by the first quarter of 2026. Plans for a new multi-tenancy research and development building at the entrance to The University of Southampton Science Park in the UK have been approved by Test Valley Borough Council. Designed by Tenderstream member Scott Brownrigg, the scheme creates 3,400 sq m of laboratory space, supporting the Park’s commitment to fuel innovation and elevate the presence of British science and technology on the world stage.

The University of Oregon is a proud partner in the mass timber effort. Mass timber uses young, small-diameter trees rather than older, larger trees that capture more carbon. Mass plywood panels offer the promise of affordable, modular homes that can be built more quickly than a standard "stick frame" house—good news for addressing Oregon's housing shortage. #MassTimber

Morgan Sindall's Construction’s Cardiff office is putting together a workplan to restart construction on Ysgol Llyn Derw. ISG had only begun work this summer on a £20m contract, a few weeks before going into administration. Morgan Sindall’s contract is for £22m. Ysgol Llyn Derw is a school for 150 pupils with additional learning needs (ALNs). It is being built osn land near Cosmeston Country Park and will be a second site to the nearby Ysgol Y Deri, which was the subject of a BBC documentary, A Special School. The two-storey building will integrate with the surrounding landscape, functioning as an extension of the school facilities. The exterior spaces will offer both teaching and study spaces as well as areas for sport, play and socialising and reflection. The design incorporates solar panels and a hybrid generator to power the site, green roofs and natural light and ventilation where possible. “We’re delighted that Morgan-Sindall has agreed to take on this project,” said Vale of Glamorgan Council leader Lis Burnett. Although you can't always anticipate the full impact, sometimes the right project at the right time can lead to some unique opportunities. 🌠 In this case, #MStation West, the future home of French pharma firm Sanofi's New Jersey HQ will also result in a new chapter for a historic Victorian-era home at the corner of corner of Maple Avenue and DeHart Street in Morristown. Last week the #Morristown Zoning Board unanimously approved plans to convert a mixed-use building at 22 Maple Ave. into four residential units intended to be used by “C-suite executives and other employees of Sanofi.” 🏡 Not only will this renovation preserve the structure’s historical character, it will serve as a beautiful new home for some of the Town's newest residents. 🌟 12 days of Christmas! 🌟 As we kick off our festive countdown, we’re excited to highlight one of our standout projects! 🎄 DAY 1 BUILDING 1 & DRY LAB - UNIVERSITY OF ST ANDREWS, EDEN CAMPUS Goodson Associates was appointed in 2021 to undertake the Civil and Structural design of two linked projects for the Univerity of St Andrews at the Eden Campus in Guardbridge. The project involved two buildings, the first a refurbishment of the existing B Listed Building 1, a former mill bounding the Main Street in Guardbridge. The second building comprised construction of a new build, single storey steel framed dry lab building abutting Building 26, another of the Eden Mill campus properties. The Dry Lab, now known as the Colin Vincent Centre, is a world leader in the production of commercial-scale batteries and is a showcase for research in the vanguard of new battery chemistries at St Andrews. The Centre will power the next generation of batteries and energy storage through its state-of-the-art facilities such as its ultra-low humidity environment, the first of its kind in Scotland.  The buildings were completed successfully and handed over to the university in 2022.
