When a #salesleader comes into a new business, whether fulltime or fractional, there are a number of checkpoints the new sales leader mentally looks at to see where to start and what to focus on. We have formalised this in a Sales Leadership Benchmark with over 70 checkpoints. It does not matter how many times I do these, and in discussion with our wonderful team of sales leaders at Sales Director Central they agree, the topic of Accountability is one of the key differentiators between an average sales team and a great sales team. But I just could not do Accountability justice in a short LI post. So I wrote a more comprehensive blog. It's still only a 3 minute read. The summary is - you cannot have a high performance team without an Accountability Culture. I look for this in the teams I assess and I prioritise instilling it the teams I help.
