Kick-off Meeting of international eMetCO2 Project On December 3, eMetCO2 Partners gathered at CoLAB NET4CO2 Facilities in Porto (Portugal), for the kick-off meeting of the new project "eNETmix technology for electrocatalytic production of Methanol from captured CO2“. This project is funded by an European grant through Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETPartnership program). Thankfully CETP TRI 3 accepted our invitation and joined us to make an online presentation. The project is coordinated by NET4CO2 and developed in collaboration with Ria Stone SA (Portugal), Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (Portugal), Universitat d'Alacant (Spain), Universidad de Cantabria (Spain) and University of Tartu (Estonia). The project provides support to further develop eNETmix technology into an eCO2R device able to produce methanol. By converting CO2 captured from flue gas streams, and through advanced energy-efficient electrochemical route, including the use of renewable energy, this will provide a breakthrough contribution to net zero carbon goals by 2050. Follow us for updates and to achieve remarkable milestones together! 💡

It’s official – Deep Sky Labs has found a home in Innisfail, Alberta. Labs is the world’s first carbon removal innovation and commercialization centre; a testing ground from which the industry can scale. Powered by 100% renewable energy, the facility will be operational this winter, and will have the capacity to capture 3,000 tons of CO2 per year, or 30,000 tons over a 10-year period, via up to 10 different technologies. This is monumental for a number of reasons: - it’s the first commercial Direct Air Capture project in Canada - it’s the first cross-technology carbon removal project in the world - it’s an industry first for the private development of scalable CDR - proprietary Deep Sky software will track and benchmark all operational data to accelerate the R&D of technology partners and the industry at large - went from concept to construction in less than a year Read more in The Globe and Mail https://lnkd.in/edNUDw6c ...and Red Deer News Now https://lnkd.in/erCCz5Xu

The HYFUELUP project Steering Meeting in #Stuttgart (Germany) has been a great opportunity to share the progress made by each of the work packages in order to prepare the first reporting period of the project. Thanks to the presentations, meetings and visits that have taken place, it has also been the ideal occasion to raise and resolve doubts about the development of the project and to benefit from the know-how of each of the partners that make up the consortium. After this meeting, and the exhaustive review of our first 18 months together, HYFUELUP project is more ready than ever to face the new stage that lies ahead and the challenges it will bring with it. ARPA-E just released its Vision OPEN solicitation, which will provide up to $150M of R&D funding. Bio friends, take a look at the 3rd topic. Carbon as a Sustainable Building Block of the Future: ARPA-E envisions a path to a transition from carbon as a source of unsustainable energy to a source of valuable materials. This will be realized through innovations, including engineering plants and algae into “living refineries” of atmospheric carbon; transforming fossil refineries into low-GHG materials factories; applying advanced carbon allotropes to energy technologies and sequestration; and scaling up new polymers that are recyclable by design.

Skeleton Technologies is proud to be one of Estonia's leading #CleanTech companies. Our mission is to revolutionize the global energy storage industry by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and most of these emissions come from industrial energy production. Because of this, the role of Skeleton Technologies is crucial in the future of global energy production. Read more: https://lnkd.in/d7TsDZWQ --- From the beginning, Skeleton Technologies has made significant progress in addressing climate change. We developed a patented raw material, #CurvedGraphene, which earned our scientists the 'European Inventor of the Year' award from the European Patent Office in 2022. This raw material is the basis of Skeleton's success, and we use it to manufacture environmentally responsible and sustainable #Supercapacitors and #SuperBattery for all major industries ranging from heavy vehicles to data centers. We are on a mission to shape industrial energy production towards a carbon-free future. One of the most challenging industries to decarbonize is mining. “The challenge of electrifying hard-to-decarbonize industries is one we can’t afford to lose. Skeleton’s innovative, fast-charging technology is a key enabler in solutions to realize fully electrified mining, helping to cut emissions, while increasing efficiency and utilization rate of mining machinery,” says Grischa Sauerberg, CCO of Skeleton Technologies Tackling climate change requires a global effort and it cannot be achieved without the right partners. Our strategic partners, Siemens, Marubeni Corporation, CBMM and EIT InnoEnergy have been significant factors in enabling Skeleton's growth in the #CleanTech sector, facilitating investment, collaboration, market expansion, and manufacturing scaleup. Together, we will change the world's industrial sector to #NetZero. It is critically important that every industry sector commits to complying with environmentally responsible actions, because the world's greenhouse emissions will increase year by year if we do not act today. Skeleton Technologies stand at the forefront of change, will you join us?
