Visual Illusions: Our mind interpreting and drawing conclusions not based on what it sees, but on what it fails to notice. We say UI is not UX, but UI has a significant impact on UX. What UI is not is just making things look good. #UserExperience #UI
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐧. Although the sense of rotation is very strong, they are static, but the movement is not related to the arrow cues. The video makes clever use of the Reverse Phi illusion involving bistable perception with flickering and contrasting colors, which also works with negatives of photos. The concept was first published in 1970 by vision scientist S.M. Anstis (linkin comments). Here there is extra visual bias with the cube frames being given shadow and lighting effects across black, grey scale and white. The perceived direction of motion depends on the sequence of the images and the subtle shadowing effects, which is slightly different for each cube. Though there may also be other factors at play. What's impressive here is that the illusion still holds perfectly when seeing two cubes move in opposite direction (kind of perceptual multitasking). 🔴 (𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗪?) This is Pure Gold This will be an amazing week for two main reasons. First, you will see eight splendid new artworks that you have never seen before. The quality is very high, which is why some of them are on Saatchi instead of Artmajeur. As I have mentioned many times, I use Saatchi for international exposure when my pieces are truly ready to make a significant global impact. These artworks are intended for museum display rather than private homes. On the other hand, I use Artmajeur for a more regional audience, mainly in Europe, where I showcase high-quality works that resonate with European sensibilities. These pieces are often more provocative, sexually impactful, and connected to our continental traditions. Additionally, I have exciting news: you will soon see an AI statement, the first of its kind in the history of AI and art. In this comprehensive and powerful document, I will share my intentions, the limits I want to apply to this technology, and my vision for its use. I aim to gain recognition as an artist while addressing the usual negative comments, offenses, and attacks we face daily. So, turn on notifications, check this channel, and stay tuned for my upcoming posts because, as I said, this week will be very special! Plato believed that the ideal form of everything exists in an abstract and transcendent world, and everything we see in the world is an imitation of that invisible ideal image. Everything we see in nature is an imitation, and everything humans create is an imitation of an imitation, which has undergone two stages of devaluation. In the early 20th century, the Dadaists redefined art by designing things called "ready-mades." Ordinary objects became works of art by being placed in a secondary context. In this case, the artist's work is to add creativity to an object, transforming it into a secondary reality, which, due to the use of creativity, is more valuable than the primary reality. For example, a piece of wood becomes a work of art by a carpenter. Michelangelo creates a sculpture from stone, or Da Vinci designs the Mona Lisa on a canvas. In reality, the work of art is not an imitation of an imitation but a secondary reality that surpasses objective reality by creativity. This is exactly contrary to Plato's belief. read more on https://lnkd.in/dcJ4WcMi

Dimensions of reality. Art has long been a bridge to other dimensions of reality, where artists invite us to step beyond the visible and explore realms that seem to exist parallel to our own. Through paint, sculpture, and digital media, they build worlds that echo our own yet twist familiar elements into places that feel foreign and dreamlike, creating a surreal connection between our experiences and imagined dimensions. These artistic "parallel worlds" expand our sense of reality, offering glimpses into perspectives and landscapes unbound by time and logic. Marek Slavík’s work, for instance, emphasizes harmony and balance, reflecting a universe that mirrors ours yet exists as a meditative alternative . Artists like Sun Xun, on the other hand, seek to unlock doorways to alternate realities, probing the unknown and inviting viewers to consider how imagination can be a conduit to places just beyond the edge of perception . Réveillard’s dedication to augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) aligns him with a cadre of contemporary artists exploring similar territories. These creations resonate because they address universal human themes—memory, fear, and beauty—but frame them within new worlds, allowing us to question our own. Such art doesn’t merely show; it immerses us in the vast, often mysterious terrain of the mind, where alternate realities, like those of Jenny Brown's intricate landscapes, exist in parallel with the world we inhabit . This approach to art challenges us to consider not only what reality is but what it could be. Artists: https://lnkd.in/eTVEgBp8 https://lnkd.in/e9YD-bSE https://lnkd.in/eJYYC9ps Cult & more. What if the distinctions between humans, animals, and minerals disappeared into a seamless union, with nature and technology coexisting in a harmonious symbiosis? My new digital collection FairyBlues combines traditional digital painting techniques with carefully supervised AI, which is trained on images from my performance art repertory. These works celebrate the new mythology of the Chthulucene, which is influenced by Donna Haraway's ideas and envisions a universe of hybridized human, animal, and mineral forms. In this contemporary mythology, I investigate a symbiotic interaction between nature and technology, pushing the limits of identity, existence, and evolution. Through these inventions, I envision a future in which organic and synthetic elements coexist, resulting in new lifeforms and narratives that transcend the anthropocentric worldview. This dynamic mythos alludes to the fluidity of being and the possibility of harmony in a world transformed by hybridizations. https://lnkd.in/gh2gWA-Z

I’m delighted to be in the top 10 of CAI (Contemporary Art Issue) Magazine, especially because many on it - like me - are not the usual suspects! And delighted they used the image of “Enter the Plastocene” (2021, with /p) at MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan, curated by Julie Walsh! :-) https://lnkd.in/duC-q2BB CAI Editor in Chief Julien Delagrange's explanation of how this list was put together: 'When it comes to the field of contemporary digital artists, the canonization of the most important actors is still a work in progress. In this article, we aim to actively contribute to mapping the most important players in the digital art landscape. Using the artfacts.net algorithm and an extensive survey, we are pleased to present the top twenty highest-ranked digital artists today. Please note that in this survey, we have opted to exclusively select artists whose medium—and most often also the subject matter or creative process—is predominantly marked by digital media. As a result, artists such as Damien Hirst and Ai Weiwei ranked very highly in the Artfacts artist’s ranking but playing a limited role in digital art have been excluded. Artists using digital media in their process and subject matter but not in the final artwork have also been excluded; think of the paintings by Miltos Manetas or the multidisciplinary practice of Jiang Zhi. To conclude, please note that this list has been assembled using the Artfacts algorithm, ranking artists based on objective career facts and data such as institutional exhibitions, measuring their pertinence and relevance in today’s art world. By doing so, some of the best-known names in digital art, who earned their recognition during the heyday of NFTs, have not made the top twenty in the art world; think of Beeple or José Delbo. For further reading on digital art, we warmly recommend the reference publication by Christian Paul and published by Thames & Hudson Digital Art from the World of Art series." #digitalart #digitalartists #veryasian #womenartists #artistranking #artnet
