Indspire had their 30th anniversary, 🎉🎉and we captured the festivities and created a video commemorating their gala and award celebrations. 🎩💃🏼Some of the Canada’s best talent performed, musicians and dancers and DJ’s we’d rarely get the chance to see without this work. 😌😌Events have a special place in our heart, especially the events for Indspire. 🎥In our event videos, we hope that you can feel the feelings of what it was like to be there - if you were there, you’re reliving the moments, if you weren’t there, you almost feel like you were (or, at least wish you were). Preparing for a live event? Here are 3 things that will guarantee it a success. ➡️ Take your clients' taste into consideration. Recall old conversations, and make a note of their interests. This opens up many opportunities to impress. ➡️ Drum up pre-event excitement. Whether that's a special giveaway, a sought-after speaker, or even some friendly competition - give your clients not only a reason to go, but a reason to feel excited about it. ➡️ Post-event follow up. A bit of gratitude goes a long way - especially with some personal touches. Pay attention to conversations you have throughout the event, and tailor communications to this. What makes an event truly memorable? The art of the unexpected!💫 Think back to the last event that left you wide-eyed and grinning. Chances are, it wasn't just good - it was surprising. We specialise in jaw-dropping moments. Imagine aerial performers descending from the ceiling at a corporate dinner, twirling gracefully above the tables, or a group of seemingly ordinary festival attendees bursting into a perfectly choreographed dance number. Our performers turn "Oh, another work event" into "You won't believe what happened!" We'll let you in on a little secret…a well-timed surprise can transform the entire atmosphere of an event. It breaks the ice, sparks smiles, and gets people talking. The unexpected elements keep your audience on their toes and wanting more. And the best part? The surprise doesn't end with the performance. We've seen how these moments create a ripple effect, inspiring people to connect, share, and engage long after the event is over.💖 Get in touch to brainstorm some ideas to get your guests talking! It’s not always clear to our families and friends what we sacrifice and do as event profs, so being cheered on in a room of them for stellar work is why submitting for awards is important. My friend Stefani Dunn once said (loosely quoted”) “being recognized in front of people that really understand your job, your passion and your purpose, is the reason that winning matters”…it’s why I encourage our team to submit their work for recognition. Submit. Write it. Relive it. Buy the outfit. Make it a special night. Celebrate. Worst case you have a great case study of your work and can take quiet reflection time considering how great you are, or discover opportunities you have to grow. We at e=mc² events are submitting, you should too.
I'm thrilled to announce that the Canadian Event Awards are officially open for submissions. For nearly three decades, the Canadian Event Awards have celebrated extraordinary creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship within the events industry. This program honours the talents and minds behind unforgettable experiences, from design, production, and weddings to fundraising, academic events, festivals, corporate events, filmmaking, technical support, catering and 44 other dynamic categories representing the diversity and breadth of our vibrant event community. The program acknowledges those who transform ideas into memorable moments and push the boundaries of excellence in live experiences. We invite you to join us as we celebrate the Canadian event industry —and the legacy built on vision, passion, and innovation. Entries are accepted until February 23, 2025. https://lnkd.in/g9X7_g5 photo e=mc² events. Credit Henry Lin

Today may be just another day in your venue, just another event on your schedule, but that’s only your perspective. I remember going to my first concert, to my first playoff game, and to many other “first times” at a nearby venue. It was exhilarating, I had waited months, I couldn’t wait! Today, after 30+ years in the Live Event Industry, I appreciate the fact that people are still experiencing their “firsts” in our venues every day. Our job, is to make the most of those experiences and memories for people. 1. Today, someone is heading to their first concert. We want them to come to many more, help make their experience great. It is overwhelming, be kind to that kid asking day 1 questions. It may very well be their day 1. You had one once too. 2. Someone is getting married in one of our venues today. They have dreamed of today their entire lives, and they chose to host the day in our venue. That’s quite a responsibility, give it your best. Few events we host will have memories that last as long. 3. Someone is going to have a bad day at one of our events. Be compassionate, it’s not always their fault. Kindness in difficulty makes for a long-lasting memory. 4. Today is a new employee’s first day. They can be intimidated by what you find to be routine. Be patient, remember how you felt on you day 1. 5. Someone on your team is dealing with something stressful that they haven’t told anyone about. Listen and be understanding if/when they decide to open up about it. It’s not “drama”, it’s their life, and it isn’t easy sometimes. 6. 99% of our guests will have a great time today. Focus on the 1%. 7. Guests planned for today, and saved up money to attend, it’s a big deal. Help them feel like it was worth it, we want them back again. 8. You may be asked the same question 100 times today. The 100th person who asks should get the same pleasant response, it is their first time. 9. Smile. Say Thank You. Be genuine. 10. Artists and athletes are not robots. They get nervous, they feel pressure, they make mistakes, they sometimes fail. Be patient with them, it may be their first day too. #aegsev #empirepoloclub #aegpresents #goldenvoice #memories #firstday #newbeginnings #specialevents #dmc #dmo #eventplanner #visitgreaterpalmsprings #memorymakingbusiness #dayone

The Fear of Technical Failures During Performances—and How to Keep the Show Going When it comes to live entertainment, nothing strikes fear into an event professional’s heart more than a technical failure during a performance. A mic cutting out mid-song, a spotlight malfunction, or an instrument not connecting properly can completely disrupt the energy and experience. Imagine the performer hitting their peak note, and the sound drops out. The audience feels it, the performer feels it—it’s an event planner’s worst nightmare. No matter how well-rehearsed the talent is, technology can steal the show if not handled properly. The Solution: Success starts with thorough tech rehearsals. Make sure all equipment—microphones, speakers, instruments, and lights—are tested multiple times before the event. Collaborating with a trusted AV team is essential. Having backup microphones, additional sound mixers, and extra lighting technicians on standby can save the day if things go wrong. At The Idea Hunter, we recently had a corporate event where multiple live bands and performers were part of the entertainment lineup. Knowing how critical the performances were to the event’s success, we made sure that both the AV crew and performers worked together in advance, running multiple sound checks. With backup mics and extra lighting rigs ready to go, we avoided any disruptions, and the night went off without a hitch. Don’t let tech fears steal the show! Our Huntresses are ready to create flawless entertainment experiences that leave guests mesmerized—without worrying about technical failures. Are you ready to start ideating? I have a question and could use some feedback. Besides the main attraction at an event, what do you look forward to most? Is it the giveaways or the chance for meet and greets? Maybe it’s connecting with folks who share your interests, discovering new artists, or just enjoying the vibe and energy. The memories made and the unique moments can often be just as special as the main event itself. What makes attending an event special?
