🌱 Exploring Foodscapes Together 🌍 On November 22nd, partners from Sweden and Danmark came together from the FoodSHIFT Pathways project for an inspiring Foodscape Walkabout in Frederiksberg, Denmark. The event, hosted by Subash Rana, University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet), brought together pupils from Lindevangskolen and students from Aeres Hogeschool Almere to explore the local food environment. Through experiential learning and co-creation, participants mapped the food and green spaces surrounding the school. Back in the classroom, the students worked together to analyse the pictures they had taken, reflecting on the environments they encounter in their daily lives and thinking about how these spaces could be improved to better support sustainability, health, and community well-being. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success! Together, we’re paving pathways for a healthier and more sustainable future. #FoodSHIFTPathways #Eramsusplus #sustainability #healthyeating #education #futuregeneration #environment #SustainableFoodSystems #FoodSecurity #ClimateAction #FoodEducation #FoodscapeWalkabout #ExperientialLearning Karolinska Institutet SUSMETRO: Sustainable Design for Metropolitan Landscapes Ciência Viva Fab Lab Barcelona Ellinogermaniki Agogi Ioannis Ioakeimidis Sofia Spolander Hanna Wieslander Katerina Riviou Carsten Meedom Dirk Wascher Aleksandra Jovanovic Julia Leirado Silva FoodSHIFT 2030

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on 12 November in Aarhus for the NIRAS SPARK Event: Sustainability, Partnerships, and Knowledge! 🎉🌱💡 This annual gathering brought together industry pioneers, thought leaders, and engaged participants who are all committed to advancing sustainable practices in the process industry. After a day filled with insightful keynotes and discussions, we’re energised and inspired by the collective knowledge shared on how we can work together to build a more sustainable world. Some key takeaways that resonated with us: 🔗Collaboration is essential Partnerships across the entire value chain are needed to tackle the complex sustainability challenges we face. No single organisation can achieve this alone - only by working together can we make meaningful progress. 💡Merging knowledge with engineering The conversations highlighted the importance of integrating product and process expertise with engineering capabilities to drive innovation and efficiency in food production, whether for plant-based or animal products. 🌍 Industry-driven change Sustainability progress is driven by industry initiatives and consumer demand - not solely by regulation. This shift underscores the need for forward-thinking practices to meet evolving expectations responsibly. 🌱Biodiversity and value chain impact Looking forward, we recognise biodiversity and the environmental impact of our value chains as critical areas to address. These will require continued innovation and a long-term commitment to sustainable practices. A special thanks to our remarkable speakers, including Katrine Milman, Lise Berg Kildemark, Henrik Lund, Jan Gottlieb, Christian Christensen, Anne Christine S. Hastrup, Jacob Vester, and Morten Olander. And, of course, we appreciate everyone who attended and contributed to these vital discussions🤝♻️ #NIRAS #SPARKEvent #Sustainability #Partnerships #Engineering #Innovation

Talents were introduced to the platform where they will interact: it's going to be a very creative place in the next months, and #Mentors and Organisers will be quickly available there to support Teams while they turn Lab ideas into business ideas. They broke the ice yesterday, but to shape great teams they need to consider their personal #values and how they shape the choices we make, together with social and environmental values. How do values connect with #food and EIT Food's mission-led approach? We'll be working on these three mission in three sessions during this afternoon: 🍏HEALTHIER LIVES THROUGH FOOD, 🍏NET-ZERO FOOD SYSTEMS and 🍏A FULLY TRANSPARENT, RESILIENT AND FAIR FOOD SYSTEM. Let's go! #ImprovingFoodTogether #EITFoodCommunity #InnovatorFellowship #InnovatorFellowship2024 #InnoCamp #InnoCamp2024 #CommunityBuilding #TeamBuilding #training #team #teamwork #teamworking EIT Food, EIT Food Education, Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, Aarhus University, Università degli Studi di Torino Eleanor Saunders

At EIT Food West, we find great value in #ecosystem building. That's why we initiate formats like the Communication Breakfasts in #Freising, where local institutions come together in order to discuss innovative ideas, align their activities and show support to one another. 🤝 In order to make #sustainable and #healthy change, we prioritise working together, rather than in competition. 💚 Recently, we had the opportunity to exchange valuable information and insights with communication professionals from a collection of organisations, such as Technical University of Munich, Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf, Leibniz Institute, Bayerische Landesanstalt für Landwirtschaft (LfL) and many more. Through bringing our ideas and passion together, and having these informative meetings, we are able to work more coherent and make impactful change to the future. We take the chance to discuss upcoming events, as much as completely new joint event formats for our communities and overall ways to drive beneficial change where needed. Keep your eyes peeled for a future event, the "Science Slam", which will be happening later this year...🌍 Our message for those who are working in #agrifood and the #foodsystem, is to support one another instead of going at something alone. A group of minds are more powerful than one, and where collaboration is possible, a positive result can be expected. 😁

Hi everyone ! I'm pleased to present a summary of the initial results of my final-year project on food transparency in Brazil. This presentation explores the complex landscape of Brazilian food, addressing the social, health and ecological challenges that influence the sector. Thanks to enriching discussions with experts such as Juliana Medrado Tângari, Director of the Instituto Comida do Amanhã, and a quantitative study carried out in the heart of São Paulo, I was able to identify the main needs and frustrations of Brazilian consumers. This work, structured according to the principles of design thinking and the double diamond, marks the end of the first phase of research. The results obtained will guide me in the choice of areas of exploration for the next phase, when innovative solutions will be proposed. I invite you to comment and share your thoughts in order to enrich this project with as many perspectives as possible !! #design #sustainable #designthinking #food #transparency #users #qualitative #quantitative #research
