When placing guide wires of cephalomedullary nails or a DHS the lateral fluoroscopy projection can be confusing. In uncertain situations you can always look for the ischial tuberosity or place an instrument into the wound and take a new image to confirm anterior vs posterior. So this is the thing: - ACL injury is the one of the most common injury in sports, especially football - hamstring injury is also a very common injury in sports/football, actually the most common muscle group injured in elite football - guess what? most of ACLR surgery is still performed using semitendinosus tendon graft, literally causing a structural damage to the hamstring complex during the ACL repair surgery but most importanlty predisponing to a higher rate of re-injury Finally someone woke up and realized that other structures can be used for ACLR. I guess changes require leaving the comfort zone, in any context, and that is just...well uncomfortable. Do a favour to yourself, start thinking outside the box.
