Avoid HP Envy Laptops & Printers - Not Worth the Money I’ve had repeated disappointing experiences with HP products and their customer service. My HP Envy laptop has faced numerous technical issues, and despite multiple service requests, the problems were never resolved. Technicians visited my home twice but did nothing more than collect signatures without fixing the issues. Worse yet, three of my tickets were closed without any solutions, wasting my time. I also purchased an HP printer, and within 6 months, similar problems with connectivity started to appear. It's frustrating to deal with products of such poor quality, and HP's customer support has been completely unhelpful throughout. I never expected such poor service and unreliable products from a brand like HP. If you're considering purchasing their products, I strongly recommend reconsidering. Small rant... As an expert, it has become increasingly frustrating watching non-experts or people with some knowledge provide technology recommendations to others. So much Dunning-Kruger. For example, "buy a Brother printer" is a great recommendation for 90% of people. But if you spout that recommendation to everyone and never listen to their needs, you'll disappoint 9% of people. Me? I'm in the 1% that remains. I worked for one printer brand's only service center in my city (Okidata), had certification on the highest end printer made by a different brand (Epson DFX-5000! ka-CHUNK ka-CHUNK ka-CHUNK, brrpppt brrpppt brrpppt brrpppt brrpppt...), and supported 4 other brands (Tektronix, Lexmark, HP, and Cannon) in a corporate environment. In fact, the ONLY brand I don't have support knowledge of is Brother (though it was the first brand of printer I personally purchased, so I do have experience with it). So when I mention casually that I bought an HP printer, to write me off as ignorant only shows your ignorance. I have so much more expertise in this area than you. If I've bought an HP, it's because I know it's the best printer to meet my needs AND I know exactly how to wrangle it to do what I want. I know how to craft a CUPS PPD to make my HP printer do what I want because the printer doesn't properly report its capabilities to IPP Everywhere Driverless setup. I know that its paper tray can properly hold 3x5 index cards while the Brother only squeezes down to 4x6 index cards. I can add egress firewall rules to neuter firmware updating that prevents HP from neutering my printer. I know how to avoid their toner lies and tricks. I am literally an expert in this. I listen to people's needs. You should, too.
