It was a pleasure to participate on this amazing panel today as part of the 4th Annual Forum for Women Leaders in IP Law. I learned a lot from my fellow panelists and hope the audience gained a lot of insight from me as well. Public speaking gives me anxiety and accepting this invite was me following my own advice that I gave to the audience which was to do the things that make you uncomfortable. #WomenInIPLaw #IPlaw #SteppingOutOfTheComfortZone #Mentor

I LOVE this picture by Marcus Jamieson-Pond FRSA from the celebrations at Royal Courts of Justice earlier this week Of course I love all the photos of the pioneering women in law present in the room. It was uplifting to realise just how many history makers we filmed for #first100years (76 to be exact!) But this photo is more expressive for me personally not because I feature in it, but because this welcome embrace made me reflect on my own journey of **Belonging** in the legal profession ...As someone who came to law late, having qualified at 32. ... As someone out of step with my trainee cohort meant that .... ... for years I felt like an outsider in the legal world Too many of those coming behind us tell me they are still in persuit of **finding my place** in a profession that still feels exclusive to many ... Thank you Marcus for capturing this moment in this photo - a sea of brilliant minds, open hearts, and outstretched hands. Although I was one of the few women there **not** to be a King's Counsel, as the night was a celebration of them, it proved to me that hard work and perseverance can help you get there in the end... We need to do more to welcome the next generation of legal professionals: • Mentoring young talents • Opening doors that were once closed • Creating spaces where everyone feels valued To my fellow legal professionals: let's ensure that no one feels like an outsider in our field! Play your part! #LegalInclusion #WomenInLaw #Mentorship #BelongingMatters

Now, I'm on a mission to empower other women lawyers with the tools and confidence they need to excel and make a lasting impact in the legal industry. Together, we can break barriers and redefine success on our own terms. 💪👩⚖️ Message me for details or follow the link in my bio for additional information. 🔥🔥🔥👋👋👋 #lawyerlife #lifecoach #careercoach #lawyercoach

Religion Law Quiz #71 talked about ethical Rule 6.5 and limited scope representation when doing pro bono work. What are examples of limited scope representation? (Scroll down for the answer) Answer: Examples of limited scope representation include (but are not limited to) the following: —Providing information —Giving brief advice and referral —Drafting simple contracts —Filling out forms —Drafting court documents —Assisting with pro-se forms —Speaking on a client’s behalf Disclaimer: The Religion Law Quizzes are provided as a service to the bar. They are informal, non-binding hypothetical questions intended only for educational purposes. Nothing in the Quizzes is intended to be legal advice and they should not be relied upon as conclusive on any issue discussed therein. HERE IS AN AI GENERATED SUMMARY OF TODAY’S PODCAST Welcome to another exciting episode of the Religion Law Podcast. We engage you with short, question-and-answer sessions on various topics pertaining to religious freedom and other religion law-related matters. Your host, Michael Fielding, guides you through these intriguing subjects. This episode focuses on the essence of limited scope representation through our Religion Law Quiz number 73. We reminisce about Quiz number 71, where we delved into Ethical Rule 6.5 and reflected on the concept of limited scope representation in the context of pro bono work. We discovered how attorneys can provide versatile services, such as drafting contracts, or court documents, speaking on a client's behalf, and more as part of their limited scope representation. Drawing real-life examples, we discussed how attorneys can offer off-the-cuff legal advice during law day events sponsored by non-profit organizations, provided there's no conflict of interest. The conversation leads to the realization that maintaining ethical standards means upholding a transparent, zealous representation for clients while ensuring no conflicts of interest. We also touch on the importance of having well-versed lawyers who are familiar with the specific area of the clientele's issues, whether it's family law, juvenile matters, or criminal issues. It underscores the specialization of the law and the need for competent legal advice. The episode concludes the topic of pro bono questions for now. Do stay tuned for more Religion Law Quizzes! Please remember these quizzes are solely for educational purposes and are not to be used as legal advice. If you find this episode enlightening, don't hesitate to share it and leave a review. Until we meet again, continue being an influence for good.

Recent report on women in law. Very promising to see the balance of female associates rising to roughly half; however, the continued slow progress for women advancing into partnership and management positions is worth noting. The law is no different than any other business are in this regard - diversity of thought and diversity of background and experience foster creative positions, arguments, and solutions. Striving to understand why women - and any other group - continue to lag behind others in leadership roles is important to enhancing the success of any organization or law firm. Here's to hoping the growth in associate ranks continues to produce high-quality, skilled, and hard-working female attorneys who are both interested in and given the opportunity to join the ranks of leadership next! https://lnkd.in/gFezAGai

LAW SCHOOL...Yes We Can celebrates... Women's History Month 2024! "We women have come a long way from the days when we were considered the property of our husbands and had no right to enter into contracts on our own because we were considered too simple-minded to handle our own affairs. We have every right to celebrate the progress we have made. However, we should never take this progress for granted. We need to keep championing the next generation (both women and men) to ensure that we are never again relegated to an inferior status in society." - Honorable Christine M. Arguello, LAW SCHOOL...Yes We Can Founder, est. 2014 #LAWSCHOOLYESWECAN #LSYWC #womenshistorymonth #mentoringmatters #mentorship #community #futureleaders
