I just watched Lenny Rachitsky's Podcast on strategy with Roger Martin. It was interesting to hear his take on what is necessary to create a winning strategy and how that relates to my own experiences. One of his insights was the 5 questions that need to be answered in order to create a successful strategy: What is our winning aspiration? Where will we play? How will we win? What capabilities must be in place? What management systems are required? Roger provides practical examples throughout the interview that explain how different companies and sectors have answered these questions and shows that they are still relevant today.
