At Ford Motor Company we are strongly committed to #decarbonisation, in fact we are investing billions in electrification that will bring exciting new electrified products for our retail and commercial customers. But as we have said before, we cannot make this transition alone. The European car sales figures for August just released by European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) are a warning to industry and policy makers about the transition. Europe needs to create the conditions for competitiveness and market demand for #electricvehicles. We need a holistic industrial strategy to achieve Europe’s green ambitions. Joined up and strategic thinking is rare in Europe at the moment. I have pioneered EVs for FoMoCo, BMWi, and others and what you are asking for is an industry wide priority. The threats from Far Eastern OEMs looms large and on top of that, geopolitical, commercial and social uncertainty, do not paint a good backdrop, Hans! Let me know if I can assist. V2X which FoMo Co supports with a new enterprise is key in delivering resilience to power distribution networks and LV sub-stations. These need real infrastructure investment from entities with deep pockets. Time for the auto-sector to sing out with a single voice.

CO2 targets need to be realistic and achievable.
Some markets are not ready with low carbon electricity generation? Specifically the use of coal which is used for a quarter of electricity in Germany but 1% of U.K. electricity is generated from coal.
