How ADS-B Brings the Skies to Life ✈️ FlightRadar24 shows real-time flights using ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast). Planes send signals with their location, altitude, and speed. These signals are picked up by ground stations and satellites, which send the data to FlightRadar24. I enjoy watching flights on FlightRadar24. The need for collecting more space weather data has never been more urgent. We rely on satellites every day for weather, communication, navigation and so much more. Spade weather can degrade satellite performance and shorten mission life. Of course understanding the interaction between spade weather and terrestrial weather in greater detail can help us improve forecasts. Considering the world is on fire and only getting hotter, it’s pretty important to deploy more spade based sensors to collect this data.
