It's official! The tables have turned..... It's an employers' market. Simply put, an employer's market refers to a situation where there are significantly more job seekers than available positions. Over the past year, we've seen the market flip from a candidate's to an employer's market. Candidates have to show better skills and training to land a job. Employers are more discerning. Finding the right candidate is a process of identifying the candidates' skills, personality, and culture and fitting it to the right positions. As an employer, how has your hiring process changed when you have more power to choose a fitting candidate? How do you make sure you get the skills you need to fill the right person in the right position? Getting the wrong one could be a costly mistake. Recruiting fees are high, training and trial periods are costly. The original premise is correct. It is an employer’s market—the employer is in the driver’s seat. However, the job of finding the right person just got harder not easier. Let me hear your thoughts in the comments below.
