The Seoul City Gov's "Imagination Biz Academy" is open for its third round of applicants for its webtoon/webnovel course. This program is a 3-month course designed to help aspiring webtoon and webnovel creators break into the industry. The program started in May 2023 and has produced 256 graduates, 139 of whom have contracted with webnovel/webtoon companies or are currency employed in the industry. So far, 70 titles have been contracted with Naver, Kakao and Ridi from the program. In order to keep up with the demands of the industry, they'll be adding follow-up programs for established creators who have completed initial projects but are facing difficulties creating follow-up titles.

🚀 Vention Hackathon 2024 is on the horizon! 🚀 This will be the most exciting event of the year! 🔥 Almost 100 participants gathered in 26 teams from 8 countries will come together to showcase their skills, creativity and passion for innovation. From Vention Kazakhstan, Mihail Gorelikov, Taimas Rashitov, Evgeniy Ilyin, Dmitriy Leshchev, Aruzhan Sabitkyzy, Владислав Галанзовский and Ansar Serikbayev will compete for the most promising project and, of course, valuable prizes. 🏆 They’ll face a 24-hour challenge of non-stop coding, brainstorming, quick decisions, and experimentation. 💻 They still don’t know the Hackathon 2024 theme and are only guessing — as this video ⬇️ shows. 😏 The intrigue will continue until Dev&QA Day celebrations at each of our delivery centers.  Who will grab the collection of newest iPhones and who will ride home with a cool bike?  🗨️ Now, a question for you: what themes do you think could be a challenge for the participants? Would You Attend a No-Winners Hackathon in Maseru? I've been watching Web Dev Challenges by Jason (Learn with Jason) on YouTube, and I think it's a fantastic concept. The format is simple: a four-hour challenge where developers build on an idea. Different companies participate as sponsors, typically showcasing their tools or technologies during the hackathon. Four developers compete and use these technologies then present their solutions at the end. I'm considering hosting something similar at American Corner Maseru. Here's what I envision - Companies would be invited to participate - The event would be streamed on YouTube - Developers would work on projects that explore new technologies - Address challenges in our country - Improve existing applications The focus would be on skill development and exposure for developers, helping build their personal brands. While there might be some prizes, there wouldn't be traditional "winners" – the emphasis would be on learning and collaboration. Would you attend something like this?
