On February 13, 2025, the fire safety landscape in New South Wales will shift, as the state adopts AS1851-2012 Amendment 1. This change intends to bring NSW in line with other states using a unified, best-practice approach. But what does this mean for industry practitioners, building owners, and property managers? ASDMA wishes to emphasise that there is no good reason to question specialist fire doors backed by supporting test evidence and third-party product and process certification based on BS 476 Part 22 fire resistance testing. That includes fire doors approved on that basis, which may be already supplied and in use. We are not aware of any analysis previously brought forward that causes a BS 476-22 successful fire resistance test to be questioned. #FireDoors #FireTesting #FireSafety #BuildingSafety #BS476 #ThirdPartyCertification

Amidst the challenges of fire risks, safeguarding your building's safety is paramount. Our INSS1440 Intumescent Sealant is your key ally in this crucial task. Listed in the UL, Intertek & FM directories and rigorously tested for higher duct sizes, it closes gaps between AC ducts and openings in fire zones, revolutionizing firestopping technology. Why is AC duct firestopping so crucial? AC ducts can act as highways for flames and smoke, spreading them rapidly throughout a building. Our INSS1440 expands when exposed to heat, sealing these potential fire conduits and preventing both flames and smoke from moving through. This protection keeps escape routes accessible, protects vital areas, and provides critical time for emergency responders. It’s an investment in safety that pays off in immeasurable ways. Choose resilience. Choose reliability. Choose INSS1440 and ensure unparalleled peace of mind for your property. 🔥 #FireSafetyPriority 🔒 #INSS1440Defender 🛡 #SafetyRedefined 🏢 #StayProtecte

May 14th is coming in hot, and that means it's time for the International Roadcheck by the CVSA. They'll be out on the streets, making sure our rigs are in tip-top shape, especially the brakes. Why are brakes such a big deal? They keep you, your cargo, and everyone on the road safe from disaster. Plus, avoiding a breakdown saves you and us time and money. Experts recommend: 👍 Checking your brakes regularly and fixing issues early 👍 Adhere to the alcohol and controlled substance policies to avoid violations 👍 Following the rules keeps everyone happy and safe Good brakes mean you can stop quickly, even in an emergency. But pump the brakes on celebrating too - don't drink and drive. So let’s check those brakes and keep the roads safe and sound! 🚛 #BrakeSafety #DontDrinkAndDrive #SafeRoads #TruckSafety #RoadcheckReady #CVSA #TruckerTips #StaySafe #SafeDriving #TruckingIndustry

I find the NFPA Report on Line of Duty Deaths to be woefully insufficient in helping the fire service understand LODD and in affecting necessary cultural change that values and optimizes human performance. While the reports does offer some interesting statistics, it falls short in asking the right questions to analyze the causal factors for these deaths. Questions like assessing training proficiency, identifying stress patterns pre-call, and evaluating critical factors during the incident are essential for a holistic understanding. For those committed to exploring human performance in the fire service look to the work of the deeply experienced team at #LeaderUnderFire.
