For several Y natural products, we include an ingredient called “Fragrance (natural)” in our formulation. This is the official INCI designation. This means it conforms with the accepted international notation called the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients. The intention is to create consistency, so that no matter where you are around the world, one name means one thing, thus reducing the potential for confusion or misleading labels. The natural fragrance we use at Y natural has a complex aroma, a bit like marzipan and vanilla. It’s made from an extraordinary blend of plant extracts are steam distilled rather than using solvents, according to International Fragrance Association (IFRA) recommendations. We don’t use this ingredient for its fragrant properties, however. This particular blend is incredibly effective in preserving personal care products by inhibiting bacterial growth. It has full spectrum antimicrobial activity including gram negative and gram positive bacteria, yeasts and moulds (using challenge tests according to the European Pharmacopoeia III ed. Modified). So… strictly speaking, we could claim our products are preservative free. Given that preservatives are amongst the most unhealthy ingredients in this industry, that’s quite a cool thing to be able to say. For almost 20 years, we’ve been educating people about ingredients in skincare. Being informed helps empower people to make decisions that are aligned to their values. It’s hard to educate people about fragrance, however, because even when following the INCI rules, the notations for fragrance be confusing. There is so much to know. Fragrance (or parfum, or perfume) is typically a one-word code for a concoction of 150-200 chemicals. Most or all of these chemicals are synthetic, and some of them are problematic, for example phthalates, the liquid plastic that’s used to help make a fragrance ‘endure’. Fragrance (natural) is a world away from a regular fragrance. What we use costs at least ten times more than the more commonly used preservatives - but we believe your skin, your health and your well-being make this investment worthwhile. So go ahead... Use Y natural products all over, and be confident that you're putting nothing but the very best on your skin

In the beauty world, the options are endless. However, one trend gaining popularity is anhydrous products, which contain no water in their formulation. But how do they compare to conventional moisturizers that do include water? ✨ Composition and Efficiency 🔹 Anhydrous Products: These products have a higher concentration of active ingredients since they are water-free. This means you can achieve more effective and potent results with less product. 🔹 Conventional Moisturizers: On the other hand, these products contain water as a base, which can dilute active ingredients. However, the presence of water can help some ingredients absorb better into the skin. ⏳ Shelf Life and Preservation 🔹 Anhydrous Products: They typically have a longer shelf life because, without water, they are less prone to bacterial contamination. This makes them a more sustainable option and less likely to spoil. 🔹 Conventional Moisturizers: These products, containing water, require preservatives to prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi, which can be a downside for those seeking more natural options. 🌱 Sustainability and Naturalness 🔹 Anhydrous Products: Ideal for those seeking purer, more natural formulas as they eliminate the need for strong preservatives. 🔹 Conventional Moisturizers: While effective, they often include preservatives and other ingredients that some people prefer to avoid. 🌟 In the end, the choice between anhydrous products and conventional moisturizers depends on your personal needs and preferences. Both have their unique advantages and can complement your skincare routine effectively. Which do you prefer? Let us know in the comments! 💬 ✅ Shop now! www.madebynaturelabs.com . 👉 Get in touch!
