Intrusive Indian ? My flight from London Heathrow to Dubai had just landed, and as I waited for my baggage at the carousel, my phone rang. "Hey, Yogi, should I get Garba passes for you this weekend?" Without hesitation, I replied, "No, I’m exhausted." The next day, the same person called again. "I’ve got your Garba passes for this weekend. We need more people - you see!" Reluctantly, I agreed. Just to build crowd. During my two weeks in London, I observed how deeply rooted the culture is in individualism. Personal freedom, self-expression, and independence are highly valued. Social interactions tend to be respectful of personal boundaries, with privacy often taking precedence. While this strong focus on individualism allows people to live authentically, it can also foster a sense of isolation as personal space takes priority over communal connection. In stark contrast, Indian community and culture is defined by collectivism, where family, community, and social bonds are central to daily life. People are often deeply involved in each other’s lives, to the extent that privacy is less emphasized. This level of “intrusiveness” is seen not as an invasion but as a sign of care, concern, and responsibility toward one another. I like to be “intrusive Indian” from Navratri, Diwali, New Year, upto Sankranti (January 14). But after that, I slip back into Lonely Londoner—when Bonuses and promtions are announced? I dont like to discuss those peanuts. 😁 Lonely Londoner or the "intrusive Indian"? What is your way of life?

One noticeable thing that everyone who visits outside India observes is the habit of saying thank you. People express gratitude in every interaction: thanking the bus driver when getting off, thanking the cashier when receiving change, thanking the cab driver when leaving, thanking someone who holds the door, and thanking drivers who yield to pedestrians. When served food in a restaurant or when giving a tip, people say thank you. Even children thank their parents for meals. This constant expression of gratitude reflects a sense of happiness and contentment, unlike the hurried and often frustrated atmosphere we experience in India. But isn’t this a positive cycle? The more we express gratitude, the more reasons we find to be thankful. Start by saying thank you—it will bring a small but meaningful moment of happiness. Thank your maid when she leaves, your mom when she hands you a glass of water, your peon when he brings you coffee, and your spouse when they make morning tea. Notice the difference it makes. Be the change you want to see in India. Start by saying thank you. Just #saythankyou Thank you for reading this 🤗

It's true that many people opt for vacations abroad or to popular holiday destinations after completing demanding tasks. However, the choice to visit a spiritual place within India reflects a different approach to relaxation and rejuvenation. For instance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has often chosen to visit spiritual or religious sites within India, highlighting his connection to the country's rich cultural and spiritual heritage. Visiting spiritual places offers a unique kind of rest and reflection, allowing individuals to reconnect with their inner selves and find peace in the midst of nature and tranquility. This choice underscores the significance of India's diverse spiritual traditions and the importance of cultural and spiritual tourism within the country. Such visits can also serve as a reminder of the deep-rooted traditions and values that continue to shape the nation's identity. By opting for spiritual destinations, individuals, including leaders like the Prime Minister, not only promote domestic tourism but also inspire others to explore the profound spiritual landscape of India

As we step into the heart of #DurgaPujo, one of the world’s grandest #cultural celebrations, the air is alive with joy, excitement, and anticipation. Amidst the festivities, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible #professionals in the #service #industry. While families and friends plan their celebrations, these #dedicated individuals are gearing up for some of the busiest days of the year—long hours, limited breaks, and immense #pressure. From an #economic standpoint, the boost is undeniable. But from a human perspective, the sacrifice of working through the festival, #managing crowds, and ensuring seamless #experiences while others celebrate is truly remarkable. As a #entrepreneur in hospitality, I’ve experienced both sides of this dynamic. Over the years, I’ve come to embrace the #satisfaction of creating memorable moments for others, but my respect for the #commitment of those working behind the scenes grows #stronger each year. While it may be easier to accept the demands of one-day festivals like Christmas, Durga Pujo is a multi-day #marathon, requiring consistent energy and #dedication. Yet, for true professionals, this is the "showtime" they thrive on—when their passion and skills shine the brightest. To the service warriors of #Bengal: your hard work is the backbone of every celebration. Without you, the essence of festivity would not be the same. Here’s to all of you preparing for these intense workdays—let’s make this Durga Pujo another unforgettable success! #HospitalityHeroes #DurgaPujo2024 #CelebratingServiceProfessionals #FestivalOfDedication #PrideInService #kolkata #india #hotelier

Celebrating Independence Day with a Tribute to Innovation and Leadership at HCL Tech 🇮🇳 As we celebrate India's 77th Independence Day, I am filled with pride not just for our nation, but for the strides we've made in the world of technology and innovation. HCL Tech, a beacon of excellence in the IT industry, has recently marked 48 years of trailblazing success. In this journey of almost five decades, HCL has consistently demonstrated what it means to be a leader—driven by a vision of empowering businesses and individuals alike. One of the most remarkable moments this year was the recognition of Roshni Nadar Malhotra, who continues to set an inspiring example as the first woman to lead a listed IT company in India. Her leadership reflects the essence of what we celebrate today—the freedom to dream, achieve, and break boundaries. As we honor our nation's independence, let's also celebrate the freedom to innovate, the courage to lead, and the determination to succeed. Here's to many more years of groundbreaking achievements and making India proud on the global stage! 🇮🇳💼 #IndependenceDay #HCLTech #Leadership #Innovation #ProudIndian

🪷What touched me about India is the heart of the people—their kindness, generosity, connection to spirituality and family. After a few days in Goa, here’s what I’ve learned: 🌟 Go with the flow—make plans, but don’t cling to them. 🌟 Talk to locals—every conversation holds a hidden gem. 🌟 Everyone has a story worth listening to, from the beach sellers to bus drivers. 🌟 Spirituality here takes many forms, from modern interpretations to traditional practices. 🌟 Goa is a living example of peaceful coexistence: Russians, Israelis, Europeans, and Indians creating a harmonious community. Travel isn’t just about destinations—it’s about the lessons and the connections. And you, what have you learned from your travels? 🌊 #LeadershipLessons #CulturalDiversity #HumanConnection #TravelAndLearn #PersonalGrowth #GlobalCommunity #GoaExperience #TravelStories #SpiritualLeadership
