📰 Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released their voluntary healthcare cybersecurity performance goals (CPGs). Broken into 10 “Essential Goals” and 10 “Enhanced Goals,” the CPGs are mapped to the Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices (HICP) from 405(d), as well as NIST CSF. Recently, Greg Garcia from the HSCC and Kate from Fortified discussed the pending regulatory changes and how to make sure your organization is prepared. You can listen to that discussion here: https://hubs.ly/Q02gXq6Y0 You can view the CPGs here: https://lnkd.in/gRDmpZ94 #cyberleadership #healthcarecybersecurity #cybergovernance

The #USAID DCCP-Pacific team had the privilege of facilitating a comprehensive #cyber #hygiene workshop for the Pacific Disability Forum, in partnership with the #Fiji Online Safety Commission and the #Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration. This workshop marked an important step in our mission to equip persons with disabilities across Pacific Island Countries with the skills and awareness to safely navigate the digital world. In today’s interconnected environment, #online safety is essential for everyone, but for persons living with disabilities, unique challenges can make it even more critical. Through this workshop, we focused on practical, accessible strategies to enhance digital #resilience, covering essential topics such as identifying cyber threats, #strengthening password practices, #securing personal information, and #preventing digital scams. One participant captured the essence of cyber hygiene by describing it as "preventing yourself from online germs." This analogy resonates deeply with our approach: just as physical hygiene protects health, cyber hygiene safeguards our digital well-being, allowing all of us to engage confidently and securely online. The session was interactive and collaborative, with participants actively discussing the threats they face and sharing ideas on how best to protect themselves and their communities. The insights and experiences shared highlighted the importance of inclusive digital literacy and the need for tailored resources that address the specific challenges faced by persons with disabilities. Looking ahead, we're excited to continue designing and delivering more of these targeted workshops across the Pacific. By empowering the disability sector with critical digital skills, we’re contributing to a safer, more inclusive online environment—one where everyone can access the benefits of the digital world without fear. Thank you to our dedicated partners and participants for making this workshop a success. Together, we are building a more resilient digital future for all. Protecting your business from cybersecurity threats is complicated when you're not familiar with what the threat is. We'll share real world examples explained in basic terms, and more importantly, what can you do to improve your security posture. I hope to see you there.
Cyber security to protect your business. This is the topic of my upcoming online lecture for the Australian Physiotherapy Association, as having the right cyber security is business critical to protect your business and patient data. Presenting alongside Christopher Haigh, Chief Information Security Officer, we’ll share our knowledge and advice with practical strategies to protect sensitive patient data and ensure a secure digital environment. Ultimately, the objective is for practices to adopt a multi-layered approach to cyber security. We will also dive into the real costs when a breach occurs. If you’re an APA member here’s the link to register for the lecture on Monday 12th August. Don’t become a headline for the wrong reason. https://lnkd.in/gCSmGCVr

Did you know today marks the 13th Global Accessibility Awareness Day? The purpose of this day is to get everyone talking, thinking, and learning about digital access, inclusion and folks with different disabilities. Disabled folks need you to truly start talking, thinking, learning and apply digital access and inclusion to everything you do. I'd love for companies to understand how their websites, applications, and products affect the world. Do you know what percentage of the population is affected by inaccessibility? Would you believe me if it doesn't just affect disabled folks, like myself? If you created products and services that included everyone, innovation and finances due to reaching out to everyone could make a greater impact. Not just on this specific day known as GAAD. Disruption of the culture of technology and digital product needs to happen in order to include accessibility as a core requirement. What are you doing to include digital accessibility and inclusion into your company, department, product, and future? #GAAD #AccessibilityAwareness #DigitalAccessibility #WebAccessibility #DisruptionOfTechnology #Technology #Cybersecurity #AccessibilityInTech #AccessibilityInCyber #DisabledFolks #Disabilities #Inaccessibility

On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, let’s consider how information security can be more inclusive. Are authentication processes accessible to assistive technologies? Do training materials and policies support diverse needs? Accessibility and security go hand in hand, ensuring everyone can safely navigate the digital world. Inclusive policies aren’t optional—they’re essential for equity in a connected future. This year’s theme, “Transformative solutions for inclusive development,” reminds us to build systems that empower all. #IDPD #AccessibilityMatters #InclusiveSecurity #DigitalInclusion #CyberSecurity

In one week, join TPGi at the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference on Wednesday, March 20 when Leilani Mason presents The Intersection of Cybersecurity and Digital Accessibility. The Internet can be a great place full of great users. However, some not-so-nice users work as unethical hackers to exploit vulnerabilities for personal gain. To prevent hackers, it is important to implement cybersecurity measures. Although, in attempting to secure your site, you may be causing accessibility issues for users with disabilities. https://buff.ly/3PiUSXi #CSUNATC #CSUNATC24 #CSUNATC2024 #Accessibility #A11y #CyberSecurity #DigitalAccessibility
