Welcome to the NAB Show 2024!! An exciting time for vendors, end users, integrators, consultants, and creators to get together to share and exchange personal and professional updates, trends, and launches.
I'm issuing a personal challenge to you this year. It's easy to fall in to the trap of "asking tough questions", dismissing a product because of one feature it does or doesn't have, or making feature request during a product intro. Equally easy to spin a conversation around to focus on you, which all presenters will do because "that's the point". But I'm challenging you to make a point of willfully and actively listening. Try to understand and learn about something even if you don't need it per se. You never know when you might, or you might need that same vendor to get you out of a jam, or maybe a peer asks for a recommendation.
Be present, disable your watches and phones, and listen. You'll go home feeling like this was the most valuable trade show and not like it was a waste to come.
