🚗🌞 Are you heading out of town this summer? Whether it’s a weekend getaway or an extended vacation, ensure your home stays safe with these essential tips! 🏡✨ 1. Set Up Your Security Systems: Simple solutions like ring cameras offer excellent protection and peace of mind. 2. Toss Leftovers and Veggies: Avoid coming home to unpleasant odors by removing food that will expire while you’re away. 3. Unplug and Double-Check: Save energy and prevent worries by unplugging all electronics before you leave. 4. Create the Illusion of Occupancy: Leave a light on to deter potential intruders. 5. Hold Your Mail: An overflowing mailbox is a clear sign no one’s home; hold your mail at the post office instead. 6. Lock All Doors and Windows: Ensure every entry point, including garage doors, is securely locked. 7. Secure Valuables: Store valuables in a safe place, preferably in a home safe or safety deposit box. 8. Inform a Trusted Neighbor: Let a trusted neighbor know you'll be away so they can watch for any suspicious activity. 9. Timer Lights: Use timer switches to turn lights on and off at different times to simulate occupancy. 10. Adjust Thermostats: Set your thermostat to an energy-saving temperature, but not too low if you have pets or plants. 11. Water Plants: Arrange for someone to water your plants or set up a self-watering system. 12. Close Curtains and Blinds: Prevent peeping into your home by closing curtains and blinds, but leave some open to maintain the appearance that someone is home. 13. Check Smoke Detectors: Please make sure all smoke detectors are working correctly before you leave. 14. Turn Off Water Supply: If you’re going away for an extended period, consider turning off the water supply to prevent leaks or burst pipes. Have a FUN and SAFE Summer!!
