What an incredible week it has been! I had the privilege to take part in one of the most incredible professional celebrations at our Sales Kick Off in Las Vegas. Around 2,500 people from 30+ different countries flew in to meet in person, learn from one another, and create valuable relationships. Powerful keynotes from MongoDB's CEO Dev Ittycheria, CRO Cedric Pech, CPO Sahir Azam, CFO Michael Gordon left me inspired with a sense of pride and gratitude for being part of such an incredible company. As can be expected we spoke of the success stories, of the insights and learnings from failures, we dove in deep on our technologies and how we can best serve our customers. We were pampered at the Wynn with great people, experiences, and way too much food. But most important... ...at the start of the SKO, our leadership shared the story of a MongoDB legend battling ALS. The story highlighted how our reactions to adversity define us. MongoDB is partnering with Racing for ALS to raise funds to treat this devastating disease. Sometimes, luck strikes when you least expect it! Here’s a small incident from last week. Raju and I were exploring booths at the Future of Financial Services conference, learning about various services and solutions. We stopped by the MongoDB booth, where they had a fun challenge: a pair of Sony headphones locked in a glass case, and only one lucky key among dozens would unlock it. Raju tried first—no luck. As I chose a key and was about to take my turn, I joked, ‘We’re not that lucky; this is never going to open!’ But to everyone’s surprise, the key worked! The whole MongoDB team erupted with excitement right along with me. Here’s a picture of the team handing over my prized possession 😝. A big shoutout to the MongoDB team for creating such memorable moments. I just celebrated my incredible 9-year anniversary at MongoDB, and what a journey it has been! I am immensely grateful to MongoDB, especially for its amazing people. A Special Thanks to Alan Chhabra for inviting me to join the new MongoDB Partner Team in 2015. Since I joined, we have grown from a close-knit team of 300 to an impressive 5,000+ teammates. Each team member is valued across the company, contributing to a culture that holds each other accountable while celebrating our collective wins. We've experienced numerous victories on our journey from a pre-IPO company in 2015, to now a public enterprise with a market cap worth tens of billions of dollars. What excites me most about MongoDB is our value of #ThinkBig-GoFar! "We are ambitious. We are passionate about creativity. And we believe the best paths are the ones we have yet to forge." When I first joined, we offered a free, open-source database and a licensed version called Enterprise Advanced. Developers absolutely loved them! People spoke about the future of a DBaaS offered by MongoDB, envisioning availability across all major US cloud providers and others worldwide. Back then, it felt like a futuristic dream, something out of a Star Wars-like 2025 movie. Back then, Enterprises, I thought, just wanted to be productive on one cloud provider, let alone all three. Today, in FY2025, MongoDB Atlas is available on three major US cloud platforms and many more worldwide. Our Product team delivered beyond all expectations, and now Enterprises are demanding multi-cloud strategies! Now, our value of #ThinkBig-GoFar resonates more than ever in the world of AI. In my words, I believe data is the FUEL for AI. Without data, even the smartest AI can't do much. But with data, AI can change the world! Remember, developers across the globe have downloaded MongoDB databases 480 million times, filling them with amazing data.
