Yesterday marked a significant milestone as we celebrate the graduation of 23 remarkable men from our program at Trousdale. This event goes beyond individual achievements; it represents our collective commitment to fostering a society that sees value and potential in every person. By supporting these men, we champion the idea that everyone deserves a chance to rewrite their story and contribute meaningfully to our community. Our program is designed to educate and empower, with a curriculum developed by those who understand the journey best—returned citizens themselves. This approach ensures that we address our participants' real challenges and barriers, paving the way for true transformation. If you believe in the power of redemption and the importance of second chances, I encourage you to get involved. Whether by volunteering, offering employment opportunities to returning citizens, or engaging with our RESET training to create more inclusive workplaces, your support can catalyze significant change. Together, we can help shape a community—and ultimately a society—where everyone is afforded the dignity and opportunity to thrive. Join us in this crucial mission. Be sure to follow The DREAM Initiative for updates and more information. #Leadership #Impact #SecondChances #DREAMInitiative

🌟 Join me in fostering inclusivity! 🌟 At Society for the Blind, they are dedicated to creating an environment where everyone feels valued and respected. With guidance from the Michigan State University Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities, the Society for the Blind team has compiled some simple tips to help sighted individuals interact comfortably with those who are blind. 1. Treat me as you would anyone else. I'm just an ordinary person who happens to be blind. 2. Speak to me directly, not through someone else. And please, no need to raise your voice. 3. Let me decide if I need assistance with mobility. Don't grab my arm; let me take yours if needed. 4. Introduce yourself when entering a room and include me in conversations. I want to know who's around. 5. Be mindful of hazards like partially opened doors, and give me a heads up. 6. If you need to step away from our conversation, excuse yourself verbally. I appreciate the courtesy. 7. I'm capable of managing on my own, but I'll ask for help if needed. 8. Feel free to use words like "see" around me. I use them too. 9. Remember, blindness is just one aspect of who I am. I have many other interests. 10. When we interact, maintain normal conversation to avoid collisions in common areas. 11. If you're speaking to me, look my way. I'm aware of your eye contact. 12. See me as a person first, not just a blind individual. Let's promote understanding and inclusivity together. Remember, in all fifty states, the law mandates drivers to yield to white canes and guide dogs. Let's continue building a world where everyone can navigate with confidence and respect. #InclusionMatters #AccessibilityAwareness #togetherwegotthis For more information check out the Society for the Blind Website: https://lnkd.in/g9uYbDsk

Chapter One UK's online reading volunteers get as much out of their weekly sessions as the children they read with. "There's a real sense of achievement for me and for her," explains Rochelle Bennie from our corporate partner, Liberty Global. #literacy #itallstartswithliteracy #volunteersweek #volunteering #employeevolunteering #esg #csr #socialvalue #socialimpact #employeewellbeing #employeeengagement
#VolunteersWeek is a chance to celebrate and give thanks to our volunteers for the fantastic impact they have on our young students’ lives. Rochelle Bennie is a Senior Manager, Global Talent, at our Silver Partner Liberty Global. She is one of our amazing 2,700 online reading volunteers who spend 30 minutes reading online with a child each week, helping us to create a world where all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Together, our online reading volunteers have racked up an incredible 18,000 hours of reading support this academic year - meaning they have read with children for a whole two years collectively since last September. Hear what Rochelle has to say about her experience volunteering with Chapter One 👇 Stories from our volunteers like Rochelle about the way they see reading confidence blossom in the children they support each week, are truly inspiring and special. 💜 Read more about Rochelle’s experience of being a volunteer: https://lnkd.in/eFJF6QRn #ChapterOne #itallstartswithliteracy #employeewellbeing #socialvalue #socialimpact #socialmobility #literacy #corporatepartnerships #corporatevolunteering #volunteersweek

𝔼𝕞𝕡𝕠𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕆𝕦𝕣 ℂ𝕠𝕞𝕞𝕦𝕟𝕚𝕥𝕪: 𝔸 ℂ𝕒𝕝𝕝 𝕥𝕠 𝔸𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕄𝕖𝕒𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕗𝕦𝕝 ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕖 Supporting your local community means showing up in meaningful ways. In Boise, 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲 continues to make a tremendous impact through its efforts, such as 𝗥𝗮𝗸𝗲-𝗨𝗽 𝗕𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲 and the 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗯 program. In my time at ACS, the team has come together to help residents rake up fall leaves for those who could use a hand. The labor-intensive teamwork lifts our spirits as we see the leaves pile up and watch kids enjoying themselves by jumping into the leaf piles. It's a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community works together!! Programs like 𝗥𝗮𝗸𝗲-𝗨𝗽 𝗕𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲 capture this spirit of cooperation, and it's heartening to witness our efforts' immediate, visible impact. Beyond that, NeighborWorks Boise is also making a difference with their 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗯 initiative, helping solve the housing crunch that affects so many, including our adult children. By connecting homeowners with those in need of housing, they're creating solutions for a problem that touches families across the city. As NeighborWorks Boise states, "𝙒𝙚'𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙤𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙩'𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙧𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙙𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨." There are countless ways to lend a hand, from participating in seasonal efforts like Rake-Up Boise to finding more lasting solutions through programs like the HomeShare Hub. Where do you see a gap in your community that you could help fill? Whether it's offering your time, skills, or resources, there's always an opportunity to make an impact. We aim to provide custom, complete, and easy-to-use systems—so you can focus on what matters most. The same philosophy applies when supporting your community: efficient, thoughtful action makes all the difference. #CommunitySupport #Philanthropy #HousingSolutions #JonathanFrank
