Thank you for sharing your insights. Question for Dr. Gray in follow-up to your initial comments about distrust with the medical community, and specifically referencing Tuskegee. Is there any evidence that the distrust is waning now that we are 50 years post that awful experiment? Is trust among the medical community better when the MD is race matched with the patient (I am assuming so)? Thank you for allowing me to ask these questions.
Very insightful conversation! Huge thanks to all of the panelists for shedding light on a topic that can be immensely confusing.
In my previous clinical practice in New Orleans our African American patients and their families were very untrusting of the health care system, I would often spend more time focusing on building a relationship of trust more than actually presenting scientific information. Sharing personal information, getting to know their personal and family dynamics was just as important!
Will this be available on-demand following today's live session?
I would be interested in knowing if LDN* is discussed in relation to lung** cancers. * https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33337537/ ** https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6126779/
