Great discussion on The Evolving Role of the CFO at Fortune’s Future of Finance conference with Yanela Frias and Xihao Hu. The CFO landscape is rapidly changing, but three key themes emerged: 1. Innovation Ally. Finance must champion innovation, providing a framework for good ideas to succeed because when innovation thrives the bottom line thrives. 2. Strategist, Not Just Steward. Modern “CFO’ing” extends beyond financial stewardship. It requires translating financial goals into actionable strategies for growth. 3. Customer Obsessed. Solving our customer’s problems is key. It requires active listening, anticipating their needs, and relentlessly exceeding expectations. Thanks to Fortune and my fellow panelists for having me. What are your thoughts on the modern CFO? CFO's: Do you find yourself questioning why your team struggles to get to the "why" behind financial and operating performance? Unless an FP&A team member is more senior within the organization, often they are left out of corporate strategy and execution discussions despite having exposure to a significant amount of financial and operational information from all parts of the business. The situation reduced visibility for FP&A teams and can prevent members understanding the “why” behind how KPIs and metrics may be shifting. To avoid these situations, FP&A teams should regularly receive updates from leaders after strategy meetings and team members should be paired with other business units, attend their department updates and provide a debrief to the rest of the team. Not only does this build relationships across the organization and reduce the learning curve for the team but will also improve communication and understanding of how to anticipate the needs of the business and manage financial decisions. #Insights #Analysis #Collaboration

CFOs have never been too far from driving and enabling business strategy... and the 'Why..' has been fairly self evident. What is really interesting is how the current and emerging generation of CFO and Finance leaders collaborate across the enterprise and the skills needed to enable the business strategy, especially in digital and tech skills https://lnkd.in/gsDMNDG2

Starting the week with a key insight from our CFO, Takashi Yashima, who emphasizes the role of trust as a driving force behind an organization’s success. In his perspective as CFO, financial strategies and operational metrics are just one piece of the puzzle. True progress happens when teams and individuals trust one another, paving the way for innovation, collaboration, and long-term stability. This sense of trust doesn’t only impact day-to-day operations, but it also enables smoother communication and a unified approach to tackling challenges. When people feel confident in each other’s abilities, it fosters an environment where creativity and bold decisions thrive. The greatest achievements come when there’s a strong sense of reliance and confidence within teams. This trust is what allows organizations to take calculated risks and continuously push the boundaries of what’s possible. Beyond financial outcomes, it is these human connections that shape the future of any company. As we move into the week, let’s take a moment to reflect on the strength of our partnerships and the importance of supporting one another. Together, with a foundation of trust, we can achieve even greater milestones. #LeadershipInsight #TeamworkMatters #TrustInBusiness #CollaborationCulture #MondayMotivation #OrganizationalSuccess #InnovationDriven #CFOInsights #StrategicLeadership #BusinessGrowth #TeamSuccess #PeopleAndProgress #WorkplaceTrust #LeadershipInAction

🚀 Why is it crucial for a CFO to be "Data-Driven"? 📊 In today's world, where data is the new "oil," it is essential for CFOs (Chief Financial Officers) to adopt a data-driven approach. Here are some key reasons why: 1️⃣ Informed decision-making: With accurate, real-time data, a CFO can make faster, well-founded strategic decisions, minimizing risks and maximizing opportunities. 2️⃣ Resource optimization: By analyzing financial trends and patterns, it's possible to identify areas for improvement, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. 💰💡 3️⃣ Scenario anticipation: A data-driven CFO can foresee financial challenges before they happen, allowing for proactive planning and adaptation. 🔍📉 4️⃣ Transparency and trust: Clear and accessible data foster trust among the executive team and stakeholders, strengthening the company's reputation and credibility. 🤝📝 In short, a CFO who leverages the power of data not only manages the present but also shapes the future of the organization. 🌟📈 #CFO #DataDriven #Finance #DigitalTransformation #Leadership
