There are lots of individuals / institutions who have responsibilities towards MRI patient safety, but... MRI is (in the USA) a prescription exam and (typically) the radiologist is the prescribing physician for a radiologic exam... the *radiologist who reads the study* is the person with the most direct legal responsibility for the safe execution of the MRI exam. (Who the exam's radiologist likely shifts depending on the point of the patient's experience... from whoever protocols the exam, to whoever may have MRMD or service-level responsibility, but ultimately lands with the reading radiologist who signs the interpretive report.)
Radiologic Technology Consultant | MRI & CT Technologist | Speaker | Podcast Host that advocates that "Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Is Not a Side Hustle in Healthcare."
