VW NAR boss has to leave, as losses reach 0.5Bn… and the new new EV SUV brand Scout rethinks launch: intro as EV, a year later as hybrid! The leave of a salesman is not too astonishing, when numbers do not fit. Pablo Di Si came with a SAR track record, but has not yet the right products. However VW‘s oath to go electric would be undermined with the hybrid Scout. The Scout would be the first EV ever, from which a hybrid derivate is developed. However Premium EV have its market, I do not see the necessity for a hybrid. What‘s your guess? #mobility #sustainability #electricvehicle #pivot Volkswagen Group of America Inc Volkswagen Group Volkswagen Scout Motors Inc.

Insightful ‘fireside’ chat from Michael Leiters CEO of McLaren Automotive Ltd at the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) International Automotive Summit in London today. Insights include: 🇬🇧 The local content of hybrid Artura is c65%, but if McLaren switched to full EV tomorrow, it would drop to around 15% based on what is available in the UK. Huge investment needed in the UK electric supply chain capability and capacity. 💡McLaren lead on innovation which attracts large suppliers as today’s cutting edge technology is tomorrow’s volume market standard equipment. 🇨🇳 Western OEMs will never compete head on with Chinese brands on price alone, and must deliver on innovation, with particular focus on what the customer wants. Here at Unipart Logistics we’ve been helping McLaren Automotive Ltd deliver outstanding service to their customers around the world since we designed their aftermarket solution in 2011. We first handled the legendary hybrid P1 battery over a decade ago - talk to us about how our Supply chain solutions and performance improvement technologies can help your electrified transformation journey. #ev #electrification #automotive #supplychain

If you cant beat 'em, join 'em! VW debuts their ID.Code concept (a reskinned XPENG G9) at Auto China. Stellantis, Audi and Honda all following suit, as well as Nissan. GM is launching amazing EVs in China under the Buick banner, all designed and built by China's SAIC. The western legacy automakers, as well as Japanese automakers cannot catch up without using Chinese platforms that are way, way ahead. Over 20 Chinese EV brands are making big headway into the global market such as UK, EU, Australia and S. E Asia.. In the mean time the US is mired in political debate where to drill for more oil and whether the next US market Cadillac perhaps could burn coal https://lnkd.in/gQRFKaDP
