The value chain of ACACIA TREE in VietNam, the main raw material for plywood 1. As the first value chain, acacia wood used as a raw material for the paper industry, it is the market with the highest consumption of acacia wood in Vietnam. To make paper, they can also use many different types of wood. After harvesting the acacia trees, they will peel it and sell it to wood chip factories and then export it to other countries. The main importing countries from Vietnam are China, Japan, and Korea. In 2022, Vietnam exports 16 million tons of wood chips to other countries with a value of 2.7 USD The reason why Vietnamese wood chips have to be exported to other countries is because they own pulp processing technology that has little impact on the environment that vietnamese companies do not have. Acacia wood sold in chip form has a low price, about 50 - 60 USD/ton. It only needs to be planted for 5 years or more to be able to exploit it. Each hectare can harvest 80,000 - 100,000 tons 2. The second value chain of acacia wood is core veneer production. Core veneer is the main material for making plywood. Vietnam is one of the 5 countries that produce and export the most plywood including: China, indonesia, Russia and brazil. In Vietnam, there are two main materials for making plywood including: acacia and Eucalyptus. Plywood made from these materials has the same quality but from acacia wood will be about 15-25$/cbm cheaper because acacia wood is more abundant than eucalyptus wood. and one more thing is if you want to import plywood from Vietnam, You should only enter one of these two types because Other types of wood will not be available much and the quality will be uneven. The type of wood used to peel veneer has a diameter of 13 cm or more, with a lifespan of 7 to 10 years, possibly older. Producers usually buy it at a price of 65-80$/ton 3. The third value chain of acacia trees is for , they used sawn timber for pallet production,finger joint board production, interior exterior like sofa, bed, door production, and export. advantage of acacia wood with another wood is It can naturally resist mold and termites without chemicals. This type of production wood is larger than other types, grown for 10 - 15 years, maybe 20, 30 years and it very hard because them grown from the acacia tree specializes in timber. This type of wood has the highest price, they can buy it by the ton or cbm, the price is from $70 - $120/ton maybe higher.Price depends on size and lifespan. Large, straight trees with long lifespans have higher prices 4. The fourth value chain of acacia wood is pellet production. Vietnam is the second  largest exporter of wood pellets in the world, so this is also a market that consumes a lot of acacia wood. However, producers often use wood industry waste or leftover parts of trees such as branches and small trees. They buy it with very low price, just under 50$ per ton.
