#News | 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗵𝗼𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗢𝗙 On November 22, despite cold weather and sleet, more than 12,000 science enthusiasts visited the Long Night of Science in Jena. 1,300 people stopped by our institute to explore cutting-edge research. Across four themed exhibition areas, we showcased technologies and innovations “made in Jena”. Expert lectures provided deeper insights into our work. Prof. Dr. Norbert Kaiser shared how nature serves as a source of inspiration for optical technologies, while Dr. Falk Eilenberger highlighted Fraunhofer IOF’s role in the upcoming CO2M satellite mission. Rohan Kundu demonstrated how micro-optics can improve road safety with applications in vehicle lighting systems, and Pascal Birckigt captivated guests with a pop-up lecture on optical systems for space exploration, held right in the exhibition area. Interactive exhibits and activities brought science to life for all ages, with highlights including a quantum-inspired game and the crowd-favorite SPOT robot dog. We were delighted to welcome so many curious minds at Fraunhofer IOF! ✨ Read a comprehensive recap of the event here: https://lnkd.in/esyibNpq
