Google Tag Manager update! If you're a Web Analytics professional, chances are that you've seen a new update in Google Tag Manager attempting to tackle the issue of Container and Tag Quality. 👨🎓 On the surface it looks to be Google tackling the issue a lot of marketers are running into with the quality of the GTM environment impacting their Google Ads ROI and GA4 usage. I'm always up for a tool telling you when something might be off, but in this case it's hard to ignore a potential Google-bias in the "quality" of tags and containers. Especially when most of Google Tag Manager containers are full of non-Google tags and scripts. For now I'd rather rely on good procedures and governance, rather than GTM telling you your container quality is low because your setup is different from what Google recommends.
