Supporting someone with PTSD can be challenging, but it makes a huge difference. The most important things you can do are listen, be patient, and encourage them to seek therapy if they’re comfortable. Reassuring them that you're there for them and respecting their boundaries will help them feel safe. Avoid pushing them too hard or minimizing their feelings. Triggers can be tough to handle, so do your best to avoid them, and never overwhelm them with too much at once. Your support can help them on their journey to healing. #GoodnessPsychiatry #MentalHealthCare #MentalHealthServices #CompassionateCare #MentalHealthSupport #FeelSupported #HealingTogether #ListenWithLove #EndTheStigma #RespectBoundaries #PTSDRecovery #YouAreNotAlone #SupportIsKey

PTSD isn't just about the memories. It’s about the sleepless nights, the racing heart, and the overwhelming sense of fear. It's the intense reactions to reminders and the struggle to avoid them. It's the numbing emotions and altered beliefs about oneself and the world. It’s the hyper-vigilance and constant lookout for danger. For some, it’s like being outside their own body, watching time stand still. If these symptoms persist for over a month and disrupt daily life, it might be PTSD. Hello, everyone. Today we'll look at Complex PTSD (C-PTSD). It goes beyond traditional PTSD by recognizing the effects of chronic, long-term trauma such as childhood abuse, domestic violence, or captivity. However, it is not officially recognized in the DSM-5, though it should be. . . . It's time to recognize C-PTSD as a distinct, complex condition so that those affected can receive the care and understanding they require.
