Sensible advice here.
Many thanks to Jane Hamilton on The Times for including me in her ‘Six From The Best’ column today. It’s great timing as we embark on our #camphillimanjaro adventure to raise funds for Camphill Village Trust in our 70th year of providing lives of opportunity for adults with learning difficulties and autism. Please support us if you can: https://lnkd.in/eeqzp545

Charities are the heroes, we must support them as much as we can. They offer tangible advice, guidance and emotional support to those that need it most, and can generally struggle for funding and resources. Number 16 suggests partnering with charities to design useful resources for autistic people. "16. Work with autism charities to produce “autism design guides” for a range of industries. Show how to create appropriate and supportive design of premises, furnishings, equipment and procedures, and include examples of where these have worked well." Take it that step further and create a social media strategy around content to help autistic people engage with your business and feel understood. This can be a great way to attract autistic talent and build a reputation in the autism employment space. Appealing to talent in the autistic community will not only enrich your culture and diversity, but bring out the best of your own staff and products/services down the line. Think ahead! #AutismEmployment #AutimaticUK #AutismAtWork

Donating to support widows can have a profound impact for several reasons: 1. **Economic Stability**: Widows often face significant financial hardships, especially in regions where women have limited access to economic resources and opportunities. Your support can help them achieve economic stability. 2. **Education and Empowerment**: Donations can fund educational programs, vocational training, and other initiatives that empower widows to become self-sufficient and improve their quality of life. 3. **Mental and Emotional Support**: Losing a spouse can be emotionally devastating. Charities and organizations often provide counseling and community support, which can be crucial for mental well-being. 4. **Social Justice**: In many cultures, widows may face discrimination and social exclusion. Supporting them can help fight against these injustices and promote equality. 5. **Community Development**: Helping widows can have a ripple effect, benefiting their children and communities by fostering a more stable and inclusive environment. 6. **Humanitarian Compassion**: Donating is an act of compassion and solidarity, showing that you care about the well-being of those who are vulnerable and in need of support.

We’re delighted to announce plans for national trauma charity RESPOND Non Profit Organisation to join the Bild Group this year. Respond provide a vital service in the sector, offering people with learning disabilities and autistic people who have experienced trauma access to specialist psychotherapy, advocacy and trauma-informed training and consultation. Respond will join our three other charities within the Bild Group - Bild, Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) and Bild Association of Certified Training (ACT) uniting our shared commitment to supporting people with learning disabilities and autistic people through trauma-informed working and championing human rights. All charities within the Bild Group operate independently with their own Board of Trustees and governance arrangements, whilst sharing a common goal – to help build a more inclusive society where everyone can enjoy the same rights and opportunities. There will be no changes to the services received by Respond clients. The charity will continue to be London-based, whilst also offering remote support, and will maintain the Respond name, brand and identity.
