Tuesday Thoughts 💭 Do you ever come across mean/negative/unnecessary comments on posts from let's call them 'The Keyboard Warriors'? To be honest, it's the one thing about social media I really can't stand. Growing up, my mum taught me that if you have nothing nice to say - just don't say it! As social media gained popularity, it became a space for people to share thoughts and feelings. It also made it easier for individuals to post hateful comments anonymously, knowing they could do so without facing consequences. But here’s my Tuesday morning reminder - to default to kindness. When someone throws hateful words your way, it says more about them than it does about you. Happy, fulfilled people don’t waste their energy being cruel. Don’t let it stop you from sharing your thoughts or posting what matters to you. (I used to let it get me down and worry about what people think, now, I just don't allow the noise to get to me). Your voice has value and someone out there needs to hear it. Keep posting and stay true to yourself. 💪 #disruptingthefuture #contentcreation #kindness

✨ Fans of a Stranger, Close to a Hater ✨ It feels only right to start this specific post off with a quote proclaimed by the one and only Heath Ledger. His words of wisdom were the following: “your biggest fan is a stranger, and your biggest hater is someone you know”. That hit me deep. I’m sure we have all encountered, or at least known of someone that has been highly supported and admired by a complete stranger. Think of social media for example. We follow people or “influencers” that we look to as inspiring role models who emulate traits of success that we also hope to possess. Even though (most of the time) we’ve never even met them in real life, they’ve impacted us in a way that keeps us connected and committed. We don’t know their whole story, even if we think we do. They may have shared a documentary detailing their life or given a TedTalk about their struggles, but we did not (metaphorically or physically) stand by them through it all as it happened. We see their “now”. We see their results at face value, and the impact they’ve intentionally chosen daily to make on the world around them. It’s almost as if we see this person not as competition or a threat because their bullies and demons weren’t anywhere close to us. If they had the same demons and hardships as us, there’s no excuse as to why they couldn’t have done the same successful things that we did. Be wary of people that claim to be your “friend” and “support” you through manipulative tactics and disingenuous behaviors. If someone in your life causes you to question your abilities while claiming to want the best for you, it’s time to rethink and readjust. This person may claim to be rooting for you but secretly talking behind your back and spreading falsehoods about your character. Be cautious of who you allow to take up your time. It is extremely valuable and worthy of being respected. Most of the time, haters are so jealous of you and your successes that it is actually sad. Try to take it with a grain of salt and remember your “why” when life seems to be coming at you hard. Hurt people, hurt people, and healed people heal people. #JoySceizina #socialmedia #haters

Rage 😡 is easy, sometimes it's even fun. There's a guy sitting next to me talking on his phone - ON SPEAKERPHONE: rage. They're going to take away my "cow hoof abscess" 🐄 Tik Tok: rage. It seems like the world is generally on fire: rage. LOTS of ways to get triggered; lots of ways to feel rage. Except....if/when one wants to make impact, coming from rage is often the weakest possible move. HULK SMASH Need to lift a car off a baby? Engage in hand-to-paw combat with a bear 🐻 ? Ok - maybe rage will offer that extra bit of super human strength to help you carry the day. However, in almost every other real-life situation, time spent in rage just makes us dumber. It makes us dumber because energy that could go towards strategy and creativity gets diverted to "HULK SMASH!" OUTRAGE So what do we do? Just give up? Just LET THE BEARS, AND THEIR KIND, WIN!?? No. What we do is we get back to neutral. Before we do anything, we take whatever time we need to return from losing our freaking mind. Then we act from a place of outrage rather than from a place of rage. What's the difference between rage and outrage? Rage means we're triggered, we're kind of not thinking, we're dumber, we're wasting energy. Outrage means we're strategic, we're thinking, we're smarter, we're in action. The distinction between rage and outrage is reflected in sayings like: "don't get mad, get even" or "don't boo, vote" or "all bark and no bite." The world doesn't need your rage, it needs your outrage. P.S. Are you working to handle some outrageous things in your work or life right now? I help people with that. Schedule a conversation with me, no strings attached, plan for an hour - let's explore what's possible for you: https://lnkd.in/euUQZGmK

Facing the "Ghosts" that Haunt Our Goals This Halloween, instead of ghost stories, let’s talk about the ghosts that haunt our goals: fear of failure, self-doubt, and imposter syndrome. Everyone has those ghosts that sneak in when we’re pursuing something big. For me, it’s that little voice of self-doubt that shows up when I’m trying something new. The truth is, these ghosts can be powerful and they hold us back, keep us stuck, and often stop us from taking the next step. But here’s the thing: just like in a ghost story, these fears lose their power once we shine a light on them. Acknowledging our fears is the first step toward overcoming them. And when we start to see them clearly, we can find ways to move forward without letting those fears call the shots. 3 Tips for Facing the Ghosts that Haunt Your Goals 1. Name Your Fears It might sound simple, but naming your fears, whether it’s fear of failure or fear of rejection, makes them less overwhelming. Once they’re out in the open, they become a little less scary. 2. Set Small, Achievable Steps Break down your goal into smaller steps. Each small win you achieve gives you confidence and helps you keep going, even when those ghosts try to hold you back. 3. Embrace Self-Compassion Facing our fears isn’t easy, so it’s okay to go at your own pace. Practicing self-compassion when things get hard is what keeps us resilient and ready for the next step. What’s a ghost you’re ready to face this season? Is it self-doubt? Imposter syndrome? Share it in the comments! I’d love to hear how you’re shining a light on your fears. #Halloween #SelfImprovement #OvercomingFears #CozyProductivity #GoalSetting #MindsetShift #CareerGrowth #ImposterSyndrome

Midweek #MentalHealth Check: #Humor has always been an effective tool for me, especially when dealing with microaggressions or presumptuous remarks. It's not just about making light of serious issues, I use it intentionally to disarm the power dynamics at play and reclaim a sense of agency. 🤡Recently, I was reminded of the efficacy of humor through a response from a content creator (see video below) to a rather absurd comment that black people don't know what computers are. 💻🤷🏾♀️🤔 🤡The creator's witty comeback was not only spot-on but also a brilliant example of humor as a form of resistance! It was a reminder that laughter can indeed be a powerful antidote to bigotry. 🤡However, I want to be clear: using humor does not diminish the real impact of these experiences. Just last month, I received a condescending message from an older colleague that I was "too young" to know what I know. Of course, the oh so flattering comments that I'm articulate for someone who looks like me. That one is a classic! 👌🏾 And not long ago, I was CC’d on an email chain where unnecessary parties were added—a tactic seemingly used to undermine my decisions or expertise. ...and so many more examples, friends. 🤡While these experiences can be deeply frustrating and hurtful, humor gives us a way to confront the ignorance and intolerance we sometimes face, so I invite you to lean into it. 🤡 If you're wondering, "Wow, serious issues, am I allowed to laugh?" Yes, you have my permission. Because when you think about it, the basis for people's hate is quite comical. 🤡It helps us communicate our displeasure while maintaining our composure and can even educate others, showing them hiw incredibly ridiculous their biases are. 😌 Stay strong and keep smiling! 😊 #power #comedy

have a message for you this Morning and it can be summarized in just a few words. Here is it: *Comfort zones are not where magic happens.* I need you to read it 5 times or more. Most people spend their time in their safe zones. - Watching Movies - Arguing with people on Twitter😂 - Scrolling through Instagram🤷♀️ Etc Then they go to church to pray and expect miracles. I am not saying prayer doesn't work. PRAYER WORKS!! But then, *Life obeys a law known as CAUSE & EFFECT.* Or Sowing and Reaping. You reap what you sow. You can't plant corn and expect mango. *You can't spend all day on social media* putting junks into your head and *expect to get the same reward* as *someone who invested both money and spent the same time developing their incoming skills.* Again... *Magic Doesn't Happen in Comfort Zones.* _-Toyin O._

I get triggered by nay-sayers. What I think when haters come at me for stuff like this: “You could probably just take a look around you to literally anything or even maybe google it if you’re looking for some stats, you know… if you’re actually curious. But you’re not, are you? You just want to find another social media post that confirms your overwhelming cynicism that is actually just cowardice hiding behind a bunch of BS ‘reasons’ for you to NOT look at your trauma… so you can tell yourself a nice little story where you’re the victim and nothing in your life is working out for you the eye you want it bc it’s THE WORLD’S fault (not your parents—who were likely extraordinarily unfair to you which is why you see it everywhere you go even where it doesn’t exist, and where it does exist you don’t try to remedy it or be part of the solution bc you’re so crippled by your distrust for everyone and everything which is obviously childhood stuff to everyone but you). Ooooooo, sorry, did I just hand you an a** sandwich? Maybe you shouldn’t have asked…” I get super triggered bc I know exactly where they're coming from Mostly I just don’t say anything. I started a little tradition of having a sip of bubbly for every haters comment like this on my content! It’s stopped right now (haven’t had one in a long time) but sometimes it gets intense! You just have to to shrug that stuff off… OR hand them an a** sandwich. #goodvibes #positivity #createyourdreamlife #mindsetmatters #healing #healingjourney #choosehappy
