This was a great discussion. While the transport industry itself creates high scope 1 and scope 2 emissions. It’s customers from other industries are looking at the transport industry to reduce their scope 3. A key question in the room was that fleet owners would be willing to invest to decarbonise, but will supply chain customers be willing to pay the premium? Is a decarbonised logistics solution a value added service? TRAILER DYNAMICS, a technology innovator of eTrailers, has announced that Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT), a global climate innovator focused on sustainable solutions for buildings, homes and transportation, and its brand Thermo King Europe, has become a strategic minority investor and cooperation partner of Trailer Dynamics, alongside German trailer manufacturer Krone. The alliance will drive innovations that enhance efficiency and accelerate the transition to zero-emission transportation in Europe and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The eTrailer provides electrified propulsion which allows significant diesel and CO₂ emission reduction when combined with internal combustion tractors, extends the driving range when combined with an electric powered tractor, and has the capability to power electrified or traditional trailer refrigeration units (TRUs).
