There are many cultures around the world. Every culture has its traditions and peculiarities. For example, different people celebrate special holidays differently, and as with most celebrations, enjoy very different meals during such celebrations. For example, consider the favourite foods Americans, Italians, the French, and the British consume, and you stand in awe. In South Africa, with its rainbow nation, we also have many different people and different ways of celebrating and enjoying family time during religious, cultural and similar special days. Luckily, apart from these differences, certain traditions are shared across the culture groups, just because we are, after all, South Africans. Regardless of where you feel you belong, if you are a South African, you will probably love braaivleis and some version of mielie pap, taken with beer. For those who do not understand my Afrikaans, braaivleis is our word for barbequed meat, and mielie pap is a very South African starch dish made from maize. Sure, there are infinite variations on the above themes, but yes, where South Africans get together, there will be a fire, and people will enjoy each other's company around beer, braaivleis, and paptert. Depending on the season, your heritage, or your dietary preferences, you may add spices, side dishes or drinks to the menu or even substitute the meat with fish or venison. How will you be celebrating the many holidays that we have in March and April? Do you have favourite substitutes for the above recipes? #Mzansi #Braaivleis #Pap #Family #Food

Happy Friday Everyone! Today, I’d like to highlight the significance of yerba mate in Argentinian work culture. Yerba mate, a traditional South American herbal tea, holds a special place in the hearts of Argentinians. It’s not just a beverage; it’s a symbol of hospitality, camaraderie, and connection. 🧉🤝 When Argentinians share mate, they’re not just passing around a cup of tea; they’re building bonds. Whether it’s with family, friends, or coworkers, mate circles encourage conversation, laughter, and collaboration. These moments of connection foster teamwork and boost productivity. 📈 Many companies in Argentina recognize the power of mate breaks. These breaks are more than just a chance to recharge; they’re an opportunity to connect on a personal level. Colleagues gather in common areas, passing around the mate gourd (a hollowed-out container) and sipping through a metal straw (a bombilla). Beyond the office, mate plays a role in networking. Business meetings, conferences, and even negotiations often involve sharing mate. Offering someone mate is a gesture of openness and trust. What beverage or food in your country serves as a tool for connecting with others? 🌎 Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below. 👇 #DiversityandInclusion #CrossCulturalCommunication #CulturalAwareness

Today is International Tea day. Those who have been on defense & security business trips with me to the UK, may have joined an 'afternoon tea session.' Yes, Fortnum and Masons, Harrods, the Ritz and the Savoy all do the occasion in opulent splendor. For me though the hidden gem and best views are enjoyed in Marriott's County Hall, library restaurant! Tea, second only to water, holds the title as the world's most consumed beverage. Evidence traces back 5,000 years, showcasing its enduring presence in human culture. For millions in developing nations, tea production and processing stand as vital pillars of livelihoods. Particularly in the least developed countries, where many families rely on tea as their primary means of sustenance, it serves as a lifeline. The industry not only fuels income but also drives export revenues, particularly benefiting some of the world's most impoverished nations. Moreover, its labor-intensive nature creates employment opportunities, particularly in remote and economically marginalized areas, contributing significantly to rural development, poverty alleviation, and food security. Beyond economic significance, tea brings forth a plethora of health benefits. Its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and weight loss properties contribute to overall wellness, making it more than just a comforting beverage but a promoter of health. In commemorating International Tea Day, this year’s focus turns to honoring the integral role women play within the tea sector. By ensuring a holistic approach "from field to cup," its benefits are safeguarded for future generations, fostering a legacy that enriches both people and the planet! #tea #drink #internationalbusiness #networking #holistic #wellness #defense #london London Marriott Hotel County Hall #cbrn #cbrne #defence #business #lawenforcement #unitedkingdom CBRNE ATLANTIC BRIDGE (CAB)

13 Times You Should Never Leave a Tip - Campuz Verge Kenya 13 Times You Should Never Leave a Tip Tipping is an important part of the service industry, but there are certain situations where leaving a tip may not be appropriate. Tumbleweed Tips for planning post-funeral gathering or receptions. 1. Consider the Attendees' Needs When planning a post-funeral gathering, think about who will be attending and what they might need. Some guests may be traveling from out of town and could benefit from information on local accommodations or transport. Others might have dietary restrictions, so offering a variety of food options is thoughtful. Remember, this event is for the attendees to find comfort and share memories, so their needs should be at the forefront. 2. Choose an Appropriate Venue Select a venue that reflects the personality of the person you're honoring. It could be a favorite restaurant, a family home, or a peaceful outdoor space. Make sure the venue can comfortably accommodate your group and has the necessary facilities. Accessibility is also key—ensure that everyone, including those with mobility issues, can attend without difficulty. 3. Plan for a Flexible Timeline Post-funeral gatherings often don't follow a strict schedule. People may arrive and leave at different times based on their emotional state and other commitments. Plan for a flexible timeline with no pressure for guests to stay for a set period. It's also helpful to have a few people ready to help coordinate on the day, so you can focus on connecting with others and honoring your loved one. #EndOfLifePlanning #TumbleweedTips #Tumbleweed #TumbleweedPlan
