⚠️Did you know that more than 1 in 10 people worldwide are affected by some stage of chronic kidney disease (CKD) worldwide? It is estimated CKD may affect more than 850 million people worldwide – two and a half times the size of the United States population. Known as a "silent killer", #ChronicKidneyDisease (CKD) is a progressive loss of the kidney’s ability to filter blood, affecting how the body eliminates toxins. Up to 90% of kidney function can be lost without a person showing any symptoms. Early diagnosis can make a difference. If detected in its early stages, the deterioration of kidney function can be slowed or delayed, potentially reducing the associated cardiovascular risks. Check out the images in this post to learn 3 key factors that impact #KidneyHealth. Kidney health starts with awareness. As a leader in renal health, we at Fresenius Medical Care reinforce our commitment and social responsibility to increase #Awareness and education to reduce barriers to better kidney care and overall health. 💙 Share this post with your community and help us spread such important information. #KidneyHealthForAll #LoweringBarriers #EducationToProtect #WorldKidneyDay #WKD2024

Diabetes and Kidney Disease Can Lead to Heart Problems Decades Earlier! New research shared at the American Heart Association meeting has shown that men with both diabetes and kidney disease might experience heart problems 28 years earlier than those without these conditions. For women, it could be 26 years earlier. This happens because diabetes and kidney disease together increase the risk of heart issues—a combination known as cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome. This is why early diagnosis and proactive care are so important for people with these conditions. Catching and managing these issues early can make a big difference in long-term heart health. #diabetes #prevention #wellness #AHA #publichealth #healthcare

Avoid Chronic Disease With Regular Physical Activity Most Americans don't move enough despite proven benefits, such as reduced risk of cancer and chronic diseases, and improved bone health, cognitive function, weight control, and overall quality of life. The second edition of the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, reports that approximately 80% of US adults and adolescents are insufficiently active. As a result, many Americans currently have or are likely to experience chronic diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and depression. https://lnkd.in/gPHyqnh9 #spectrumtherapy #physicaltherapy #physicaltherapyelpaso #elpasotexas #qualitymatters #7locations

Chronic diseases are responsible for 73% of deaths globally. The World Health Organization has categorized chronic diseases into four main groups: cardiovascular diseases, cancers, chronic respiratory diseases, and diabetes. To manage healthcare costs, it is crucial for people and employers to measure the risks of chronic diseases. Without measuring these risks, it is impossible to manage the velocity of healthcare costs. Let's work together to reduce the burden of chronic diseases and create a healthier world for all. #healthcare #chronicdiseases #worldhealthorganization #tallywell
