For this installation, I needed to 3D print a case to house the external GPS antenna. After creating the initial 3D model, I proceeded with 3D printing the case. The first prints were used to identify any flaws or areas needing improvement. I iteratively adjusted the model and printed several prototypes until the design met my standards. Once the final model was printed, I moved on to the polishing process. This involved sanding down rough edges and applying a finishing coat to ensure the case was smooth and aesthetically pleasing. Through repeated testing and refinement, I successfully produced a polished and functional case for the GPS antenna. #artinstallation #interactiveinstallation #gpsantenna #3dprinting

A deep dive into color modes We have an experiment to create colors and explore some of the questions above. In this experiment, RGB rays were shone onto surfaces made up of RGB and CMYK colors. To better understand this, let's simplify the experimental process with an example: Here, we'll choose item B from the RGB group and item M from the CMY group as representatives (you can experiment with other items for better understanding). The light source was shone onto the blue surface and then onto the magenta surface, and the results were re-examined. Based on what you see in the top image, in the second case, more color outputs were obtained, which led to the selection of CMY colors for printing to achieve greater color variety. full article: https://lnkd.in/d26TbcWV

How perfect is perfect? Much like a social media influencer’s glamorous life, #3Dprinting is capable of hiding significant flaws behind a beautiful and flashy facade. I shared a video of this perfect socket last night. It looks awesome! The truth is, this “perfect” test socket sucks and deserves to go straight into the trash can. Listen to the video to learn why it’s so important to do calibration testing and quality control with 3D printing, then take a look at the picture in the comments for an example. I also talk a bit about chasing speed. You can certainly do it, but you also may want to slow down depending on your goals. There’s a tip at the end for how to figure out what your top end volumetric speed should be for clean and clear prints. #prosthetics #orthotics #craftsmanship

Wondering why your translucent films are looking washed out at night? It is likely due to the printing process. At Payler, we use a three layer method (Color, White, Color) to ensure consistent colors from day to night. Check out the video below to see the differences between our method of printing vs the standard two layer (Color, White). Sorry to scare you... Following on from my last post of this print in process. Well here's one we made earlier. Some great screen printing in my opinion. The image blends seamlessly with the black glass spray and is punctuated with a striking red hot-foil. We can transfer this type of image onto any thermally curable substrate capable of withstanding a modest 160 degrees c ( think bottles, cosmetics, candle vessels ).
