As a father, I’m amazed at the life lessons I learn from observing my kids. This week I was able to take my 5-year-old, Piper, to her tumbling class. Here were a few of my observations: • During warm-ups she consistently stayed in front of the class, dialed in and treating everything as a “race”. • When learning a new technique, she was ALWAYS the first to raise her hand volunteering to try. What makes this even more inspiring to me, is this was only her 3rd week in the class since being moved up from a lower level. Not only was she leading, but among peers older and more experienced than she is. What did I learned watching my daughter Piper? 1 - You lead by example. Regardless of current title, tenure, or experience, leadership is reflective of actions. 2 - Be courageous and don’t let fears of failure or less experience prevent you from “raising your hand”. 3 - Life is about progression over perfection, and the only way you progress is by allowing yourself to experience the uncomfortable amidst imperfection. #SalesExcellence #CreateGrowth

As I reflect on my journey, I am reminded of the transformative impact so many mentors have had on shaping who I am today. "A change in mindset leads to a change in practice, which then leads to better outcomes." Yesterday, I was able to attend the 2024 Wisconsin Community Schools Conference in Sun Prairie. It was a great day of learning, connecting, and refueling my fire for supporting our students and families on the Northside of La Crosse. The phrase above from the opening plenary especially stuck out to me, professionally and personally. How can each of us change our mindset to help achieve better outcomes? How can we shift our mindset to be the best versions of ourself? How can we help lead others in changing their mindset to help produce better outcomes for the people we serve?

August Class Achievements: Let’s Celebrate YOU! It’s not just about racking up the number of classes—it’s about the number of times you showed up for yourself, especially on those tough-as-nails days when it would’ve been easier to stay home. 💪 In full transparency, this is a new program for us, so I KNOW many of you have some incredible achievements waiting to be celebrated! If you haven’t seen your name yet, hit us up and I’ll personally look up your class count and make sure you get the recognition you deserve. Now, here’s something super special I want to highlight—this amazing crew is made up of brand-new members, Yourh Girls, AND some of my OG day-one girls who’ve been with me since before I even had a proper system in place. That’s why some of these numbers might look WILD. (Like, 1,300 classes for Mary and Jess and Cassie’s 500 day 1s! 🤯) But let’s keep it real for a sec—life happens, we all fall off track. What matters is that you JUMP BACK ON. Around here, we say everyone has a day one, and some of us have several. And you know what? We celebrate them ALL. This is Destiny. She is a teacher with a savviness about shaping the energy of a classroom of 5th graders that is second to none. Her laugh often fills the room and makes kids smile, even (especially?) when they’re feeling a little grumpy. Kids trust Destiny. They should. She works to earn their trust and then she shows up for them to keep re-earning it. She loves Hot Cheetos. Hot anything, really. Regardless if anyone else is in the room, Destiny passionately and openly embraces strategies to maximize engagement and learning. Her integrity- alignment of who she is in front of kids and behind the scenes- is astounding. No news stories will be written about this little window into her class. But there are extraordinary things happening in this clip and I deeply appreciate who Destiny is and how she shows up for her beautiful St. Louis students. Premier Charter School —— Appreciation: to “recognize the full worth of” For teacher appreciation week, I’d like to recognize a few specific teachers instead of the generic “teacher.” Why? Schools are the most powerful unit of change in public education. Almost nothing happens in schools without teachers. I coach leaders to help equip them to best serve their teachers. Because when a child gets exactly what they need- lives, families, and communities are transformed. There’s nothing like watching an extraordinary teacher in action- and helping them get even better. It’s been an honor to play a small role in amplifying Destiny’s impact this year.

As a driven and ambitious individual, it’s essential to stay ahead and continuously seek out ways to grow.
