In the dynamic world of port logistics, standing still is not an option. Crane cooling systems from FrigorTec ensure that cargo handling runs smoothly around the clock - in all weathers and under all conditions. Why is cooling so important in port operations? Cranes are exposed to the sun, lift loads weighing tonnes and have to move them with precision. Without adequate cooling, sensitive electronic components can overheat and fail. This is where our systems come into play. They keep the operating temperature within the optimum range, even when the outside temperature rises. At the same time, the crane operator needs the best conditions, such as a comfortable seat, good visibility and optimum air conditioning. A special feature of our harbour crane cooling systems is their resistance to salty environments. Specially coated heat exchangers and corrosion-resistant materials withstand even aggressive sea air. This significantly extends the service life of the systems and reduces maintenance costs. Did you know that our systems also contribute to energy efficiency? Energy is saved through intelligent control and the use of modern technology. This not only protects the environment, but also reduces operating costs. Flexibility is another plus: whether ship-to-shore (STS), rail-mounted gantry (RMG), automated stacking crane (ASC), rubber-tired gantry (RTG) or special loading systems, we have the right cooling solution for every requirement. And with our global service network, we are always close by when you need us! #PortLogistics #CoolingSystems #Efficiency #Sustainability #CraneCooling

It’s not unusual in high temperature range countries for ports to experience breakages in rails on ground track applications. These often occur at Aluminothermic weld locations as these a predominantly the weakest link in the rail system. These breakages should not be confused with weld failures such but as temperatures cool and rails shrink dramatically the forces can be so high as to break rails in two and often the weld shears in half with a granular structure shown. These are a result of the stresses experienced by the rail when it’s trapped between two anchor points ( STS Cranes parked a way apart as an example) not by the weld being bad but rather the stresses exceeded the mechanical strength of the weld itself. Allowing rails to move along their designed axis will reduce and prevent this problem from occurring. Grouping cranes together in middle of the berth when not in use will certainly help this common occurrence in cooler months ahead.

Cranes are the backbone of countless industries, lifting and moving heavy loads with precision and power. Whether in construction, shipping or manufacturing, the reliable operation of these massive machines is essential for maintaining productivity and safety. At Auxema Stemmann, we understand the critical role that safety components play in crane operations. That's why our rail clamps are engineered to handle forces between 250 and 1500kN, ensuring that your cranes remain secure, even under the most demanding conditions. What truly sets our rail clamps apart is their self-locking mechanism. If there's an inadequate force application, our clamps automatically engage, pressing firmly against the rail and blocking the crane. This powerful blocking capability ensures that your operations remain stable and safe, protecting both your assets and your team. When it comes to crane safety, trust the power and reliability of our rail clamps to keep everything firmly in place! 📩 auxema@auxema-stemmann.com 📞 (+34) 946 740 362 #AuxemaStemmann #Cranes #RailClamps

Did you know that elevators are statistically one of the safest modes of transportation worldwide? However, ensuring this high level of safety begins with selecting the correct traction cable system to your elevator. Some of the key factors to consider include: 🔹 Diameter of the Cables: Ensuring optimal performance and longevity. 🔹 Type and Quantity: Different cables offer varying strengths and durability. 🔹 Traction Conditions: Environmental factors can significantly impact cable performance. 🔹 Lifetime of the Rope: Regular inspections are essential to prevent wear and tear. 🔹 Number of Reverse Bendings: Affects the overall durability of the system. 🔹 Breaking Load: Determines the maximum load the cables can handle safely. 🔹 Suspension Type: Crucial for maintaining balance and safety. 🔹 Traction Sheave Conditions: Groove type, angle and endurance. All these parameters play a critical role in influencing the safety and reliability of your elevator systems. Our friendly and experienced team at Ziehl-Abegg is ready to assist with your new elevator project or modernization needs, ensuring the highest standards of safety and performance. 🌬️ Understanding the Impact of High Winds on Container Crane Operations 🚢 Container cranes are essential for the efficient loading and unloading of cargo vessels. However, when wind speeds increase, these operations must be halted to ensure safety. Here's the technical breakdown: Structural Integrity: High winds can cause excessive sway in cranes, potentially compromising their structural integrity. This is particularly concerning for the stability of the crane's boom and jib. Operational Control: Wind gusts make precise control of the crane difficult, increasing the likelihood of operational errors and accidents. Tipping Risks: The lateral force exerted by strong winds, especially when they come from the side, can pose a significant tipping hazard, particularly when the crane is carrying heavy loads. Cargo Security: Wind can cause containers to shift or even detach from the crane, leading to cargo damage and potential harm to personnel. To mitigate these risks, crane operations are typically suspended when wind speeds exceed specific thresholds, such as sustained winds of 25-35 mph (40-56 km/h) or gusts over 35-45 mph (56-72 km/h). These thresholds can vary based on the crane's design, the nature of the cargo, and local safety regulations. By adhering to these safety protocols, ports and operators can protect both personnel and infrastructure.
