Cultural Land Trust - A community model for artists and cultural organizations that opens pathways to sustainable stewardship of cultural spaces, rent stability and collective wealth. As rent is becoming increasingly expensive in cities across Canada, artists and cultural organizations are being priced out of their properties. A BC organization is working on a Cultural Land Trust to provide long-term security for art spaces, a concept that has been achieved in cities around the world. Environmental and climate sustainability are becoming increasingly important and urgent. When designing a #museum, it is crucial to prioritize environmental and social sustainability values, focusing on generating positive impacts for communities. This year, I had the privilege of designing the Discovery Museum, scheduled to open in October. It emphasizes the synergy between science and art, offering an interactive experience centered around contemporary scientific themes. The museum aims to showcase art and science as fundamental expressions of humanity while also contributing to China's stature as a leading scientific hub. In recent years, I've also designed two other notable museums in China: -Vacheron Constantin Maison 1755: This museum offers a comprehensive exploration of horology's timeless realm, particularly emphasizing engaging the new generation through collaborations with CAFA (Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing). -The Next Shanghai: An immersive museum featuring exhibitions crafted by young Chinese artists participating in the Art Creator Programme. All these endeavors, including the Discovery Museum, are united by a common goal: to create tangible value for communities, foster personal growth, and promote self-expression. 🏠 🏙It is becoming increasingly evident that the outcomes of the FuturHist project could significantly impact the partner cities. Cities like Kraków, for example, are in dire need of energy-efficiency solutions for historic buildings and eagerly anticipate our project's results. Life in Kraków magazine informs about FuturHist and its possible effects on the stock of historic buildings in Kraków due to the cooperation between the Cracow Uniwersity of Technology, Urząd Miasta Krakowa and other FuturHist partners. 👉 https://lnkd.in/du66qE_h

In the first panel discussion of the conference Reimagining Heritage, Archives and Museums Today/Tomorrow, amidst talk of spaces and access and funding and language, a question was asked "if you had 150 million what would you spend it on? and the answer was surprising, it wasn't renovations, new spaces, high-tech equipment.... it was time, giving visitors quiet contemplation time. It is indeed becoming harder to find those spaces, and perhaps even to know how to be quiet. #franceinsouthafrica, #iqoqo, #todaytomorrow
