🤫🤫🤫 Industry secrets 🤫🤫🤫 Determining best value can be mind blowing 🤯. Just because the raw material comes from the same tree and appears to recieve the same length of guarantee it doesn’t mean it’s comparable. Laminated timber has superpowers: - Super strength - Resistance to ~Kryptonite~ warping & cracking - Stylish finish - Longevity - Redudes the risks of future maintenance. That’s why ESP PLAY manufacture using laminated timber. Understandably, price matters. That’s why we sacrifice profits over quality…not all heroes wear capes! #bestvalue #Education #Playgrounds #headteacher #schoolbusinessmanager #Estates #MATs

Earlier today I came across an Instagram reel about a so called “klus klas”, the equivalent of a class in elementary school, with as subject tinkering and making stuff with your hands. The moral of the story was that, besides the popular “ plus class” for students who can handle extra academic challenges, there should be a class for students who show they have the interest and/ or talent in working with their hands. As a woodworker I can whole heartedly support the idea of (bringing back) such a class. I seem to remember we had a similar subject in high school, ages ago. It will give kids a huge confidence boost to actually make something tangible by themselves. It increases their spatial awareness, fine motor skills and problem solving abilities, just to name a few. You’d be amazed how much math related challenges they will experience , working with rulers, conversions from metric into imperial and vice versa, angle calculations, reading work plans and solving structural design challenges. They will learn about money, pricing, budgeting and the costs of tools. Take them to the hardware store to buy supplies, such as glue and sandpaper. I bet you a sheet of sandpaper will suddenly stretch a longer way! How awesome it would be when they leave school with a trade under their belt. Maybe they make it their living. If not, they will have something to fall back on when life throws them a curveball. And as a cherry on the cake: there are a really great craftsman communities out there, which will receive them with open arms! #education #woodworking #craftsman

Classrooms are geared towards being a positive environment for students to grow and learn. Whether going through daily tasks or plunging into a new activity, messy classrooms come with the territory. Because classrooms are such active environments, their choice of flooring matters. Remember that not all flooring is made equal, as some types can wear down much faster than overs leading to frequent replacements. There is also no one-size fits all solution, as the needs of classrooms vary depending on the institution and specifics of that class. We will be diving into what you should look for in flooring as well as what types of flooring to consider. https://vist.ly/3mguwgh

I need your help. When I started a painting business 2 years ago, I always had the goal to give generously, to make a positive impact in the community, and to support others who share a similar drive and ambition to achieve great things. This year, I am so thrilled to announce that we are giving away $2000 in the form of one scholarship that is going to a grade 12 student in the Waterloo Region who is pursuing post secondary education in the skilled trades. There is currently a shortage of labor in the skilled trades, and it is only getting worse as the older generation is retiring. For every 2 people that are retiring, there is only 1 young person entering into the trades. For many generations, parents have told their children "if you want to be successful in life, you need to go to university..." While university might be a great option for some students, it is definitely not for everyone. Four-year university degrees have been getting increasingly expensive. More and more students are graduating with excessive student loan debts, and no plan for their career that involves their degree. Alternatively, there are amazing opportunities in the skilled trades. Many of these career paths involve a 2 year college degree. The tuition each term is 1/4 of what it is at universities, and 1/8th the price overall. In addition to this, apprenticeships are available, where students will work in their field, and get paid $20-$40+ per hour, as part of their education!! Immediately after graduating, many of these students are able to land an amazing career, and it is not uncommon to be earning $80k+ Don't get me wrong - regardless of whether a student goes through university, college, or neither, they can have an amazing career. What I believe makes a person successful in their career is their work ethic, their commitment to personal development, and their network. My goal with this scholarship is to help close the skilled labour shortage by promoting the trades as the amazing career that they can be. Then to support one student who is perusing post secondary education in the skilled trades, to help with the financial burdens of tuition, food, rent, gas, and the general increasing costs of living. I hope to find a student who is eager to learn, and eager to work. A student who is ambitious, who has big dreams, and who is choosing to accomplish them through the skilled trades. So I need your help. Please share this post. If you know someone who this might be able to apply, please send it to them. If you don't, just repost it, or share it in any other way that you can so that somebody else might see it. If you have any questions, or want to know more about this opportunity, please do reach out to me. Lets build a better future together! Daniel

Building a Fort – Step-by-Step Guide Building a Fort for the Kids: 1. Gather Materials: Use blankets, pillows, chairs, and whatever else you have on hand. 2. Choose a Structure: Set up chairs or a table as the base. Think about stability and space. 3. Drape the Roof: Spread blankets over the structure, securing them with clips or ties. 4. Add Comfort: Place pillows and blankets inside to make it cosy and inviting. 5. Personalise: Add lights, toys, and other fun elements to make it special. Just like building a fort, finding the perfect property or investment requires using available resources creatively and adapting to the situation. Whether it’s transforming a space or seeing potential in a property, the key is thinking “above the problem” and not “in it”. This fort was under the legal 40 sqm so planning was not necessary…
