📄 New Publication: Optimization of Aluminum Extrusion Press Productivity I am pleased to announce my co-authorship of "Optimization of Working Conditions and Increase of Productivity of Aluminum Hot Extrusion Press Based on Finite Element Analysis" with Juan Llorca-Schenk and Praveen Hewage. This study, conducted in collaboration with Alumex PLC, utilizes finite element (FE) simulation to optimize billet temperature, enhancing extrusion velocity while maintaining safety. Our findings show that simulation predictions closely match real-world results, leading to significant productivity gains without additional equipment investments. This cost-effective methodology supports the importance of tailored extrusion conditions over standardized approaches, offering substantial benefits for companies using extrusion simulation for die design.
